Is Survey Lama Legit?

SurveyLama is legit and lets you answer surveys to earn rewards. It's also highly rated and has aa 4.3 star rating out of 5 on Trustpilot with over 9,500 reviews.

Users generally seem pleased with how easy the website is to use, the format of the surveys, and site customer service. Plus, SurveyLama is an international survey site that's available in many countries.

That said, some users complain about low payouts per survey and limited surveys depending on their country. Overall, we think SurveyLama is a B-tier survey site; not the best, and not the worst.

What Is SurveyLama?

SurveyLama is a global online survey website that pays users to complete online surveys.

It's free to sign up for, and SurveyLama is available in plenty of countries, including: the United States, Canada, UK, South Africa, Philippines, and Mexico.

All you need is your email to register. You then verify your email and enter your gender and age to verify your profile. This pays a small $0.45 sign up bonus. From there, you can begin answering surveys to earn.

Overall, SurveyLama is a super simple platform to use. And if you've used cash survey sites like Branded Surveys or Survey Junkie before, it should be quite easy to get started.

How Do You Make Money With SurveyLama?

The only way to earn money with SurveyLama is to complete surveys. You can find available surveys on your main dashboard. These surveys come from SurveyLama's partner CPX Research and ask you questions about a range of topics like entertainment, food, health, and travel.

When I tested out SurveyLama, most of my surveys paid anywhere from 25 to 75 Lama Points. This equates to $0.25 to $0.75. Surveys also have a time estimate, which I like. Most of mine took about 8 to 20 minutes to complete.

This works out to a couple of dollars per hour at most. SurveyLama isn't the highest-paying survey website out there. Plus, some users complain about the limited number of available surveys versus some of the larger companies out there.

On the bright side, you can earn a Daily Bonus of $0.20 if you complete 3 surveys in a day.

Cashing Out & Rewards

You can exchange your Lama Points for two rewards: free PayPal cash and Amazon gift cards. You need 20,000 Lama Points to cash out a $20 reward in the United States.

It's worth noting that LamaPoints are redeemable in the currency for your individual country. So, if you sign up outside of the United States, you might have a different minimum requirement for cashing out.

According to SurveyLama, payments typically take 15 days to process after you request a payout. Also note that points expire after 90 days of inactivity. If you would like to keep your points, be sure to log in and participate at least periodically.

Earning Potential – How Much Does SurveyLama Pay?

Taking online surveys is a legitimate way to make money online, but you won't make a lot of money. Most SurveyLama surveys pay between 10 and 50 Lama Points, which is about 10 to 50 cents per survey in U.S. Dollars.

Additionally, how much you earn per survey usually depends on where you live. And in some countries, you might have fewer surveys available than other regions.

Also note that you don't qualify for every survey you attempt and that you only get paid for surveys that you complete. If you get unlucky and keep getting disqualified, this can be a frustrating side hustle.

In short, you can use SurveyLama to earn free cash and gift cards on the side. But I wouldn't expect more than $10 to $50 a month from this website.

After signing up for SurveyLama and trying it out, I think it's a decent website. And it's main selling point is that it's available in several countries, not just the United States.

That said, I don't love it's $20 cash out requirement. And these SurveyLama alternatives generally pay more and have faster payouts:

Is SurveyLama A Scam?

SurveyLama isn't a scam and pays users for completing surveys. It's highly-rated on Trustpilot, and there's online payment proof and many positive reviews too.

However, this isn't the highest-paying survey company out there. On top of that, SurveyLama had a major data breach in early 2024.  Some users' info including birth dates and addresses were exposed, so keep this in mind when signing up.
