Mistplay is a free gaming rewards app that's available for free on the Google Play Store. It claims it's the leading loyalty program for mobile gamers, and has over 10 million downloads and a 4+ star average rating.
Using Mistplay is also very simple. All you have to do is download games from its in-app library, complete certain levels or achievements in the game, and you earn rewards for playing.
In my experience, Mistplay offers a great variety of games and is completely legit in terms of cashing out. This is why it's so popular amongst mobile gamers.
Overall, Mistplay is an excellent side hustle for gamers, and the game variety and depth of free gift card rewards are why people use this app.
About Rewarded Play
Similar to Mistplay, Rewarded Play is a well-known app that lets you earn a range of free gift cards for trying out new Android games.
It's one of the most popular apps like Mistplay as well, with over 10 million downloads and a 4.2+ star average rating.
The entire rewards system is quite different to Mistplay. With Rewarded Play, you choose the reward you want to work towards. You then download games and earn points as you play those games, and Rewarded Play tracks your progress towards your free gift card.
In my experience, it has better game variety than Mistplay. And when compared to Mistplay, Rewarded Play is very much on the same playing field in terms of popularity, trustworthiness, and game variety.
But, let’s take a look at some of their biggest differences so you can pick the app that's best for you.
Rewarded Play vs Mistplay – The Features
If you’re wondering if Mistplay or Reward Play is better, it’s important to compare features for each app to make a fair decision.
I've used both these apps to earn quick money on the side, and they're leaders in this category for good reason. However, there are some key differences that might make one app superior to the other.
1. Game Variety
Game variety is one of the main factors to consider when choosing between Mistplay or Rewarded Play. After all, if you love the games you're playing, you're basically earning passive income with these two apps.
Thankfully, there are hundreds of games to choose from on either app. But certain styles and genres of games might appeal to you more.
Rewarded Play Games
One of Rewarded Play's main advantages is that it often has hundreds of games that you can download and play to earn rewards.
Some common games available on my Rewarded Play account include:
- Bingo Blitz
- Yahtzee
- Wheel of Fortune
- Pool Payday
- Mystery Society
- World Series Poker
- Harry Potter
- Mahjong
- Word Alchemy
- Pirate Kings
- Cookie Jam Blast
- Sudoku
Three of the most popular genres on Reward Play are casino style games, puzzle games, and strategy games. Rewarded Play also introduces new games regularly so there's always something new to try.
Mistplay Games
Before we get into Mistplay games, you should note that the games available to you are geo-specific. In other words, game variety depends on where you live.
I've always found that my Mistplay account has plenty of games to choose from. But again, this can change greatly depending on where you live.
Here’s a list of common games available on Mistplay:
- Pirate Kings
- King of Avalon: Dragon War
- Yahtzee
- Originals: Interactive Story Series
- Solitaire Cash
- Slotmania
- Rise of Kingdoms
- Raid: Shadow Legends
- Scrabble
- Family Farm
Again, the genres you get will depend on where you live, so I recommend checking it out for yourself and seeing what you get. I will say that most styles include an emphasis on strategy, word, tycoon, or puzzle games.
Winner: Rewarded Play usually has better game variety than Mistplay, but both apps are similar.
2. Reward Options
Rewarded Play doesn't offer PayPal cash or direct deposit for rewards and only has gift cards. In contrast, Mistplay recently added PayPal cash, although it has a high cash out requirement. If you're looking to earn actual cash, using GPT sites and survey websites might be better instead.
Rewarded Play Rewards
Here are a few of the free gift cards you can redeem with Rewarded Play:
Gift cards are subject to change. But in my experience, you can usually find gift cards to large, popular retailers like Amazon that make for excellent prizes.
Mistplay Rewards
Here are a few of the free gift cards you can redeem with Mistplay:
- Apple gift cards
- Amazon
- Prepaid Visa or Mastercard cards
- Best Buy
- Cinneplex
- Google Play Store
- Roblox
- Uber Eats
The fact Mistplay also added PayPal cash recently gives it a massive advantage over Mistplay since you can redeem real money. And one Mistplay tip is to save up your Units since you get better more bang for your buck.
Winner: Rewarded Play is better than Mistplay if you want more gift card selection. But Mistplay is better than Rewarded Play if you want cash since it offers prepaid Visa cards and PayPal cash.
3. Cashing Out
Another important way to compare Rewarded Play vs Mistplay is by looking at cashout minimums and how the cashout process works. After all, you want to make sure you can actually cash out with these apps since waiting weeks or months to earn enough can be frustrating.
Here's how Mistplay and Rewarded Play compare for cash out requirements:
- Rewarded Play: The minimum cashout amount is 45,000 points ($5) for the smallest gift cards.
- Mistplay: The minimum cashout amount is as low as $0.50 for Amazon gift cards. However, you get more value out of your points if you hold out for the $10 gift cards. PayPal cash is available at $10.
Both apps take around 48 hours to approve your gift card cashout and transfer it to your email, which is relatively fast for any money making app.
Winner: Both apps have similar cash out amounts although Mistplay has lower requirements for Amazon gift cards.
4. Available Countries
At the time of writing, Rewarded Play is only available in the United States and Canada. It's Canadian expansion is recent however, so it's nice that the app is expanding over time.
In contrast, Mistplay is available in 10+ countries, including:
- The United States
- Canada
- The UK
- Germany
- France
- Denmark
- Norway
- Sweden
- Finland
- Australia
- New Zealand
- Singapore
If your country isn't on this list, unfortunately, you have to explore other ways to make money online.
Winner: Mistplay is available in many more countries than Rewarded Play.
5. Referral Programs
Referral programs are a great way to increase your earning potential and ultimately get more value out of these Android gaming apps.
The Rewarded Play referral program pays you 1,000 points for every friend they refer. Your friend also earns 1,000 points as a sign up bonus. When you make the conversion, 1,000 points is about $0.10. So, it’s definitely not the greatest referral program out there, but it’s free money at the end of the day.
In comparison, Mistplay's referral program pays you 100 units ($0.40-$0.50) and gives 100 units to your friend as well.
All in all, Mistplay has a higher referral program compared to Rewarded Play, but it’s free money either way and they’re both minimal rewards.
Winner: Mistplay's referral program is slightly better than Rewarded Play.

6. Earning Potential
One final factor you can consider in the Rewarded Play vs Mistplay debate is the earning potential for both apps.
At the end of the day, these apps are a fun side hustle. They won't replace your day job or make $50 a day or anything close to that. But if you want to play video games for money, they're fantastic apps.
In terms of Rewarded Play, the app encourages you to download games so you reach your $5 gift card. Earning your first $5 is easy in the beginning. Earnings slow down the longer you play a game, which is to encourage users to keep trying new games.
All-in-all, you can expect to make around $10-$20 per month with Rewarded Play if you’re using it consistently. And I know some people who earn $20+ since they play more games.
As for Mistplay, it doesn't cap earnings like Rewarded Play. But it refreshes games slowly in order to slow down your rewards progress.
Similar to Rewarded Play, Mistplay also pays around $10-$20 per month if you use it consistently over time. You can earn more if you're a serious gamer.
Just note that both apps pay slightly less the longer you play the same game, so trying several games is important. Also note you can try out even more legit cash games, such as Cash Giraffe and Money Well, to boost your earnings even more.
Winner: Mistplay and Rewarded Play have similar earning potential.
