Is Money Rawr Legit Or A Scam? (My Honest Review!)
There are plenty of apps that pay you to play games out there that make this a reality. And one newer gaming app in this space is called Money Rawr, and it says you can earn lots of rewards just for playing your favorite games.
But is Money Rawr legit? And how much does this gaming app actually pay?
I tested out Money Rawr for a day to find out. And my Money Rawr review is covering how this app works, its earning potential, and how to decide if it's right for you.

What Is Money Rawr?
Money Rawr is a gaming rewards app for Android that lets you play different mobile games to earn free PayPal money and free gift cards.
The app is owned by Money RAWR Company, a division of AppStation, another paid gaming app. And it's similar to apps like Mistplay and Cash Giraffe and is a fun way to play games to earn prizes.
This app basically pays you for downloading and playing new mobile games. So, if you want to play video games for money as a new side hustle, this could be the app for you.
However, my Money Rawr app review is going to cover exactly how this app works and what the earning potential is so you have some realistic expectations.
Is Money Rawr Legit?
Yes, Money Rawr is legit, and the app lets you earn cash and gift cards for playing new games. The app also has over 5 million downloads and a 4.2 star average rating, making it one of the most popular Android gaming apps.
I also downloaded the app and tested it out. It's very easy to use and doesn't seem like a scam. Overall, the app is pretty similar to other legit cash games. Although gaming apps like Mistplay, Cash Giraffe, and Rewarded Play are better options in my opinion.
How Does Money Rawr Work?
I downloaded Money Rawr and tested out the app for an afternoon. Overall, it's a very easy-to-use app that's pretty similar to other leading gaming reward apps out there.
Making money with Money Rawr takes four simple steps:
- Download the Android app and create an account
- Download and play sponsored Money Rawr games
- Refer your friends for bonus rewards
- Cash out through a Money Rawr payout
1. Download The App & Sign Up
Money Rawr is an Android app that pays, so if you're looking for iPhone games that pay, you're out of luck sadly.
Additionally, you need to be 13 or older to download Money Rawr and have an Android phone that's version 5.0 or higher.
Once you download the app, you create an account by connecting through Gmail or Facebook. From there, Money Rawr asks you for your age and gender so it can match you to more relevant games.
After you enter your age and gender, you have to grant app usage tracking permissions. This lets Money Rawr monitor how long you spend playing its sponsored games so it can pay you rewards.
This is the same tracking process apps like Rewarded Play, Cash Giraffe, and App Flame use, so don't be alarmed by the request. Just know that you have to grant tracking permission if you want Money Rawr to pay you.
2. Download & Play Mobile Games
After you create your account and grant permissions, the next step is to download sponsored Money Rawr games and apps.
When I tested the Money Rawr app, the only app in my games list was Current Rewards, an app that lets you get paid for listening to music.
Current Rewards is actually a cool passive income app, and it also has some paid surveys you can answer to earn more rewards.
However, the fact I only had one app to download and use to make money is a massive downside for Money Rawr.
This is the same problem I encountered when testing out Cashyy and Cash Alarm, and if you don't have multiple games to choose from, you have way fewer earning options.
Anyways, if you download Money Rawr games and play them, you earn a certain amount of coins every minute you play. Coins deposit in your Money Rawr account, and you use coins to redeem various rewards.
Just note that the amount of coins you earn per minute slowly decreases the more time you play a game, so your hourly pay from Money Rawr decreases too unless you find new games to play.
3. Refer Your Friends
One other way to make money with Money Rawr is to invite your friends to join the app.
Money Rawr's referral program pays you 25% of the coins people you refer earn. The people you refer also get 25% of the coins you earn as a bonus.
This dual referral bonus means everyone wins, so this is a perk of Money Rawr. However, many other reward apps have more lucrative sign-up bonuses.
For example, the Drop app, which pays you for shopping and for playing games, gives you up to $15 for free when you sign up. Similarly, apps like Fetch Rewards often pay $3 to $5 worth of points when you sign up.
It's still nice that Money Rawr pays you something, but don't expect to make hundreds of dollars with referral bonuses.
Cashing Out & Rewards
Money Rawr payout options include PayPal money and a variety of free gift cards to stores like:
- Amazon
- Free Google Play credit
- Nike
- Playstation cards
- Starbucks
- Walmart
- Xbox gift cards
One advantage of Money Rawr is that PayPal rewards start at just $0.50, which costs 4,999 coins. And since you get a 4,499 starting coin bonus just for signing up, you can actually get paid the same day if you download a Money Rawr game or two and try them out.
Gift card rewards start at around $2.50, but this is still a low payout requirement, which is nice to see.
How Much Does Money Rawr Pay?
Even though Money Rawr is quick money, the rewards are quite small, so this is really just a beermoney app and not a super high-paying side hustle. You can probably earn a few dollars per day with this app at most.
Additionally, the fact the amount of coins you earn per minute slowly decreases means Money Rawr doesn't pay that much.
If you want to use this app to make some quick cash, go for it. But if you're trying to make $2,000 a week or some super high amount, Money Rawr isn't worth using.
And keep in mind: using various gig apps like driving for DoorDash or Instacart pay way more than Money Rawr. Similarly, other gaming reward apps like Cash Giraffe and Rewarded Play have way more earning options, so you can earn a bit more per hour.
Pros & Cons
Pros:
- Variety of reward options including PayPal payments
- Low payout requirements
- An okay referral program
Cons:
- Very limited games selection
- Your hourly earnings decrease the longer you play a game
- Extremely low earning potential
- No high-paying sign up bonus
- No iPhone version
Other Money Rawr Reviews
I tried out Money Rawr for this review, and I think the app is legit. However, I didn't like the game variety, and I think it's not as good as some other leading gaming apps out there.
But one of the best ways to tell if Money Rawr is legit or not is to see what other app users are saying.
This Money Rawr review from YouTuber and gaming app expert Devine The Divine provides a pretty good overview of how the app works and what you should expect:
In his review, Devin explains how the app works and how he was able to cash out. However, he also complains that the games in his Money Rawr games list weren't fun to play at all, which is another common problem of these pay-to-play gaming apps.
Finally, and most importantly, Devin states how you have to keep trying new games if you want to earn as much as possible, which isn't always fun. Considering these downsides and how many higher paying apps there are out there, I think it's safe to say that Money Rawr isn't worth using.

- Cash Giraffe: One of my favorite gaming apps with a low $0.20 cash out minimum.
- Mistplay: The leading gaming rewards app for Android that has the most game selection.
- Swagbucks: This get-paid-to website pays you for shopping, playing games, watching ads, and answering surveys.

- InboxDollars: A leading paid survey website that also has a five dollar sign up bonus.
- JustPlay: One more gaming reward app for Android that offers fast PayPal payments.
These apps won't make you hundreds of dollars a month, but for a fun side hustle idea, they're all viable. I've also tested out these other apps and websites and have found much more success than with Money Rawr.

Final Thoughts
I hope our Money Rawr review helps you decide if this popular paid gaming app is worth using or not.
I'm not going to use Money Rawr after testing out the app because it barely pays and didn't offer me many games. And, there are so many other great apps that pay you to download them that you can use instead.
But if you already spend hours per week playing games on your smartphone, apps like Money Rawr can basically pay you passive income, which isn't too bad.
In any case, enjoy your gaming, and hopefully an app like Money Rawr can pay you for the time you spend playing!
