Make $1,000 In 3 Days With These 8 Side Hustles
Maybe your monthly rent payment is approaching. Or, maybe you're trying to make some quick cash to cover an unexpected bill or a trip you're taking.
Whatever the case, we're all been there; sometimes you need to hustle for a couple of days to make ends meet.
I've been there plenty of times during college as well. And that's why I'm sharing my tried and tested methods to make $1,000 in 3 days if you're in a pinch.
How To Make $1,000 In 3 Days
All of the following side hustle ideas and gigs have the potential to make $1,000 in 3 days, or even more. However, you have to put in the effort and hours for these hustles to be successful:
1. Deliver Food & Groceries For Money
If you have a car, bike, or scooter, then using food delivery apps is a surefire way to make some quick money.
Many of these gigs let you sign up if you're 18 or older. You then get paid to pick up food or groceries from stores and then deliver them to customers in your city.
Several popular delivery gig jobs you can apply to include:
With Uber Eats and DoorDash, you generally deliver fast food and restaurant orders. As for Shipt and Instacart, these gigs involve shopping for groceries and then delivering them.
But with all of these gigs, making $10 to $25 per hour is possible depending on the market. So with enough deliveries in three days plus some tips and driver bonuses, $1,000 is possible.
2. Sell Stuff You Don't Need
When was the last time you did a bit of Spring cleaning around your house?
If you're like me and most people, there's probably a few items in your home you don't really use or need anymore. Therefore, selling off these unused items is a super simple way to get quick money in a day or two.
There are also so many ways to find local buyers so you can complete a quick sale. Some of my favorite selling platforms include:
- Facebook Marketplace: An excellent marketplace for selling just about anything for cash.
- Craigslist: A useful Facebook Marketplace alternative.
- Worthy: One of the best online options to sell watches, jewelry, diamonds, and other valuable pieces.
- OfferUp: Another popular local selling option where you can list almost anything.
Between these marketplaces and options like pawn shops or hosting a garage sale, you have so many options to sell your stuff for quick money.
3. Do Odd Jobs For Cash
If you're willing to hustle, completing odd jobs for people is one of the most reliable ways to make $1,000 in three days.
This is something I used to do during high school and college with my friends. We would do odd jobs like shoveling snow or landscaping to make some side cash. You can do the same thing with gigs like cleaning, window washing, lawn cutting, moving help, furniture assembly, and so many other gigs.
And you don't need to struggle to find clients either. These days, odd job apps like Steady and TaskRabbit let you list your services and find local clients in no time at all.
4. Deliver Packages To People
Delivering packages for money, like delivering food, is another flexible side hustle you can try out.
The idea here is pretty simple: become a delivery courier for different apps and get paid to deliver things. Some of the top companies looking for drivers you can check out include:
- Amazon Flex (this is one of the highest paying apps in the delivery space and where I suggest starting)
- CitizenShipper
- GoShare
- Roadie
This is just scratching the surface of driving apps that pay. You can probably find plenty of local delivery gigs too from companies in your city. And with enough deliveries, you can potentially get $1,000 in three days.
Pro Tip: If you drive for money, use apps like Everlance to automatically track your miles and expenses so you're ready for tax season.
5. Try Freelancing Gigs
Freelancing online is how I've made money in short amounts of time in the past. And I like this option since it lets you earn money from home and can often yield some high hourly pay.
Personally, I make money with freelance writing and SEO consulting for the most part. But I've also made money by running ads for local businesses, managing social media accounts, and other similar gigs.
There are even more popular freelancing gigs out there, including:
- Coding
- Editing and proofreading
- Email marketing help
- Video editing
- Virtual assistant work
- Website design
You can use your network to find quick gigs to hit your $1,000 goal. Alternatively, use remote job sites like Upwork, Fiverr, or FlexJobs to find some short-term gigs that pay you quickly.
6. Become A Rideshare Driver
This idea is similar to delivering food or packages, but it works!
Companies like Uber and Lyft are often looking for new drivers in thousands of cities around the world. And the best part is they often offer new driver sign up bonuses to sweeten the deal.
So, if you're willing to drive people in your vehicle, you can apply to these gigs and begin making decent money. With enough rides and some luck, $1,000 in three days is possible.
Just note these companies run background checks, so onboarding can take a week or two. This means it's best to apply to these gig apps in advance so you're eligible to drive when you need to.

7. Take Part In Focus Groups
One more idea I love for making $1,000 in 3 days is to take part in paid focus groups.
Now, let me start out by saying this idea won't work for everyone. After all, it can be difficult to find and qualify for focus groups, and these opportunities aren't available to every demographic.
That said, you can find some pretty high-paying gigs if you know where to look. And many focus group opportunities are remote these days, letting you earn money online.
User Interviews and Respondent.io are two platforms I suggest starting with. Each one has focus group opportunities that can pay $100 to $300 per hour or even more. And again, many of them are online and quite flexible.
I actually qualified for one 45-minute interview with User Interviews that's coming up in a few weeks. It pays $65 in free gift cards for a quick 45 minute interview where I test a new website experience; not bad for under an hour of work!
There are plenty of focus groups and studies going on at a given time. So, with a bit of luck, you might be able to make a few hundred bucks in an hour or two and get closer to that $1,000 goal.
8. Flip Stuff
Flipping stuff isn't a new side hustle, but it's stuck around because it works.
The idea is quite simple: you can look around your city for potentially valuable items to buy at a discount and then flip them for a profit.
My friend does this by buying things from garage sales and flea markets that he then resells on eBay. Another person I know does this by picking up sofas, furniture, and appliances people are throwing out. He either fixes them and resells them or sells the appliances for scrap metal.

Final Thoughts
I hope this guide on how to get $1,000 in 3 days helps you out if you're in a bit of a pinch.
When you struggle with money, everything is tougher. However, with the right side hustle stack, it's possible to make a lot of money in a short amount of time.
My last piece of advice is to just be careful with burnout. Periods of intense hustling can be great for your finances. However, it's still important to take time off, to sleep, and to relax.
In any case, best of luck on your money-making mission!
