What Is Words To Win?
Words to Win is a free words puzzle game from Rewardify Inc that's available for Android and iOS. The app says you can win real cash prizes for completing its various puzzles and also enter sweepstakes to win even larger prizes.
Words to Win is similar to other paid gaming apps like Word Roamer and Island of Word that also claim you can win cash prizes for solving its puzzles.
However, unlike Word Cash which has an unrealistically-high cash out requirement, Word Cash lets you redeem your earnings at just $7. This is what the app claims at least. But let's find out exactly how Words to Win works and if it's legitimate.
Is Words to Win Legit?
Words to Win isn't legit and is very misleading about its earning potential. The app pays you until you're near the $7 cash out requirement. However, the app then makes it increasingly difficult to earn, and many users report getting stuck just under $7 so they can never redeem their earnings.
This is a scammy trick a lot of beermoney sites and apps have used over the years. For example, other apps like Money Quiz and Bingo Smash use similar tricks and make cashing out unrealistic because of how much time you need to spend playing.
I think it's very dishonest as well. The app makes people think they're earning, but in reality, most people won't actually cash out and reap any rewards. On top of that, Words to Win doesn't verify any sweepstake winners, so it's impossible to know if anyone is even winning those cash prizes.

How Does Words To Win Work?
I downloaded Words to Win and tested it out one morning for the purpose of this review. Overall, the app is very simple and works in five steps:
- Download the app
- Play word puzzle games
- Enter sweepstakes
- Invite your friends
- Cash out
Here's how each of these steps works in a bit more detail.
1. Download The App
As mentioned, Words to Win is free and is available on Android and iOS.
Once you download the app, you don't have to create an account or add any personal information to start playing.
Also note that Words to Win is available to users worldwide. But players in select countries like the United States, Canada, Australia and the United Kingdom have the most flexible payout options.
2. Play Words To Win
The main way to make money with Words to Win is to complete is various cash puzzle games and levels.
Like other word puzzle games, you earn points and complete levels by placing letters in the right order to make words. Each round gives you a certain number of letters, so you have to get creative to finish each level.
If you get stuck, Words to Win lets you shuffle in new letters or get a hint as well. As you complete more levels, the length of words increases and puzzles become more challenging. You also get extra letters for even more possibilities.
Once you complete a level, you usually earn about $0.05 to $0.10 worth of gold coins. This is the in-app currency that you use to cash out later with.
Completing levels also gives you entries into cash sweepstakes, which I'm about to explain below.
3. Enter Sweepstakes
Another way to make money with Words to Win is to enter and win its cash sweepstakes.
Players who log on daily and complete levels receive scratch-offs and opportunities to win tokens or real cash prizes. You can use your tokens to buy additional sweepstake entries. As for cash prizes, money deposits to your account so you can cash out.
Here are some of the different Words to Win sweepstakes that are available:
- Wheel Spins: Enter this daily sweepstakes by tapping the rainbow icon for a chance to win tokens and cash prizes ranging from $0.05 to $10. If you want more daily spins you can watch ads to earn more.
- Sweepstakes: Words to Win has $50 sweepstakes daily and larger sweepstakes on a monthly basis. Use the tokens you win in the game to purchase tickets for the different contests. If you're a winner, cash is deposited into your wallet.
- Cash Dash: These are various contests within the game where you can achieve additional prizes.
All these sweepstakes sound like an awesome way to make quick money. But I think the odds of winning are pretty low, so I wouldn't count on any major cash prizes.
4. Invite Your Friends
Words to Win has a referral program that pays you with extra sweepstake entries if you invite your friends to join.
This is a pretty disappointing referral “bonus” since other gpt apps often pay $1, $5, $10 or more in real cash for referring friends.
For example, websites like Swagbucks often have a nice sign up bonus of about $5. And you can find the same bonus with sites like InboxDollars and MyPoints.
Cashing Out & Rewards
Words to Win lets you cash out once you earn $7 worth of gold coins. This is a much lower requirement than some competitor apps, and reward options include free PayPal money or Amazon gift cards.
This is a decent set of rewards since PayPal and Amazon are easy to spend money with.
However, as I'm about to explain, actually earning $7 and cashing out with Words to Win is much more difficult than it first seems when you download the app.

Other Words to Win Reviews
I tried out Words to Win for a couple of games to learn how the app works. But after reading other Words to Win reviews, I quickly stopped because of how many people claim the app is a scam and doesn't pay.
Here are some recent Words to Win reviews on the App Store for an example of what I'm talking about:
- “You never get above $6.55 no matter what level you manage to achieve. The cash out amount is $7.00 and above.”
- “Even doing the scratchers I only got coins. I’m currently on level 200 and something and I’m still stuck on $6.55 which I have been on since level 23.”
- “I wouldn’t recommend anyone wasting their time on this game. There are faster ways to earn an extra $7 other than wasting hours, days, weeks, or even months of your life.”
- “Deleted the game after spending so much time playing and then not getting some of the rewards. I'm just over it.”
As you can see, all of these other players complain about getting stuck under $7 so they can't cash out. This makes Words to Win an awful side hustle, and it's pretty scammy.
The word game itself can be fun if you enjoy puzzle games. But there are so many other apps that pay you real money that you can use if you actually want to make money.
Pros & Cons
Pros:
- Words to Win is free and available for both Android and iOS
- The puzzle games are fun
Cons:
- Many users report that Words to Win makes it impossible to cash out
- The app is quite dishonest in its advertising
- There's no way to know your odds of winning sweepstakes
The Best Words To Win Alternatives
In my opinion, Words to Win isn't a good use of time if you want to earn PayPal money or free gift cards.
However, there are plenty of legit money-making apps that you can use instead. Some of my favorite ones include:
- Branded Surveys: A leading paid survey site with cash and gift card rewards.
- Bingo Cash: One of my favorite competitive Bingo games for iOS and Samsung.
- Mistplay: This app lets you play new Android games to win free gift cards and PayPal money.
- Swagbucks: A leading rewards site that lets you earn by playing trivia for money, answering surveys, downloading apps, and watching videos.
- Solitaire Cash: Another great real money game where you play Solitaire to win.
- Rewarded Play: A popular app like Mistplay with hundreds of games you can play for gift cards.
- YouGov: Another legit survey site that pays with PayPal and gift cards.
- Cash Giraffe: Another fun Android app with PayPal and gift card prizes.
- Money Well: One final app you can use to play games and earn instead of Words to Win.
I also made a YouTube video on some of the best ways to play video games for money.
If you enjoy mobile gaming, Rewarded Play and Mistplay are where I'd start, provided you have an Android. If you're an iPhone user, you can read my post on the best iOS game apps that pay for some more ideas.
Is Words To Win A Scam?
In my opinion, Words to Win is a scam. The app has hundreds of negative reviews where people complain that the app stops paying just before they can cash out.
Sure, a few Words to Win reviews claim that they got paid and that the app is legit. But the app is probably letting a few people cash out to get these reviews. For most people, it's impossible to ever make money with this app.
I love word games and contests, but I personally don’t see this app having enough genuine opportunities to win more than a few dollars.
Does Words To Win Pay Real Money?
Words to Win doesn't pay real money. The app stops paying people as they approach the $7 cash out requirement, so most people never earn anything at all.
While there are individuals who do report getting paid, overall they seem to be few and far between.
In my opinion, you're much better off using various reward apps or looking for legit online jobs instead of trying to make money with Words to Win.
Is Words To Win Worth It?
In my opinion, Words to Win isn't worth it. There are so many ways to make money online for beginners that actually pay, and Words to Win is pretty scammy for most people.
If you enjoy word puzzle games and don't want to make money, you can give the app a try. But if you're looking to earn real money, you probably want to look elsewhere.

Final Thoughts
While Word to Win is free to play, most users are never going to cash out any real money. It also takes a lot of time to earn the minimum payout of $7, even after days, weeks, or months of play. And this assumes the app doesn't freeze your earnings and scam you.
The large prize sweepstakes are a nice incentive for some. But without knowing the odds or who actually wins, I'm not sure that the time commitment is worth it for a chance at a prize.
If you like the game, then by all means play and enjoy it. However, this isn’t an app where you can make $100 a day or anything even close to that.
I think using other online money-making ideas, or even various gig economy apps, are way more lucrative. Hopefully, this Words to Win review helps you understand why.
