Is Surveys On The Go Legit? (My Honest Review!)
WebMonkey shares many different ways to make money, save money and how to earn passive income. And one side hustle topic that readers commonly wonder about are paid surveys.
Surveys have been a popular way to earn money on apps and online for many years. And I've personally tested dozens of them since my time in college and while researching the world of making money online.
One survey app that's growing in popularity is Surveys On The Go. Like the name suggests, it offers a way to answer paid surveys while you're out and about daily life.
But is Surveys On The Go legit? And how much money can you actually make with this site?
I downloaded the app to test it out. And my Surveys On The Go review is covering how this platform works, the earning potential, and if it's actually worth using or not.

What Is Surveys On The Go?
Surveys On The Go is a United States marketing company that offers GPT (Get Paid To) opportunities that include a variety of paid survey opportunities. It has a free app for Android and iOS devices that you can download and use to make money from your phone.
Like other paid survey websites, the idea behind Surveys On The Go is to share your data and opinions for rewards.
The app has over 1 million downloads between both the Android and Apple app stores, and the fact it's mobile-focused also makes it different from many competitors that are predominantly web-based.
Ultimately, Surveys On The Go provides an easy way to make some extra pocket money in your spare time. You can't make a full-time income from it, but it's a very simple side hustle you can try out.
Is Surveys On The Go Legit?
Yes, Surveys On The Go is legit. The app has thousands of positive reviews on the Google and Apple app stores, and there's also plenty of payment proof online. However, the most common complaint is that users don't get many surveys, so it takes a long time to cash out.
Overall, you need to determine for yourself if it is worth your time. Because of the low number of surveys offered and relatively low pay, many users including these on Reddit have determined this app isn’t worth their time.
In this Surveys On The Go review, one user explains how the site is decent but barely gives them surveys to complete. So, after two months and only earning $5.60, they still can't cash out.
Additionally, many other reward apps and survey sites have lower cash out requirements. This is one reason I'm not the biggest fan of Surveys On The Go and think it's a good back-up site but not the best app out there.
For example, both Branded Surveys and Survey Junkie let you make money by answering surveys, but you can cash out at just $5. And there's generally more surveys to answer versus Surveys On The Go.
How Does Surveys On The Go Work?
I downloaded Surveys On The Go to find out how the app works and to see how much it pays. Overall, this survey website is quite simple and takes three easy steps:
- Download the app and sign up
- Complete available surveys
- Cash out
Let's examine how each step works in a bit more detail!
1. Sign Up
Signing up for Surveys On The Go app is relatively easy. Just visit their website and select the button to sign up. Alternatively, you can download the free Android or iOS app.
Once you sign up, you have to answer a few demographic questions to help qualify you for surveys. These questions can include your gender, income, status of employment and more.
This is standard for other paid survey sites, and Surveys On The Go asks these questions to match you to more relevant surveys.
Also note that Surveys On The Go is only available to United States residents who are 18 or older. And, of course, you need a mobile device for this phone side hustle.
2. Answer Surveys
The main way to make money with Surveys On The Go is to answer surveys. Generally, these are short surveys that cover topics like:
- Health
- Entertainment
- Food
- Personal opinions
- Shopping habits
Surveys generally pay $0.25 to $1, although you can sometimes find surveys that pay a few dollars. However, you have to qualify for surveys which involve answering short pre-screener questions.
As you can see in the screenshot above, a lot of the surveys are paying $0.25, but some pay up to $5 if you take on an in-store mystery shopping gig.
However, you get disqualified from surveys pretty regularly in my experience, but this still pays you a few pennies for your time at least.
If you qualify and complete a survey, the cash then appears in your Survey On The Go account. The app also sends you push notifications when new survey opportunities are available.
Also note that you can share your location data with the Surveys On The Go app to potentially receive more surveys. This is because the app can ask you more specific questions about your shopping and travel habits.
Finally, there's one survey type called App + Web surveys where you’re asked questions about different websites and apps that you use and enjoy and give your feedback.
Again, don't expect to make more than a few dollars per survey and per hour with Surveys On The Go. And know that Surveys On The Go has fewer ways to earn than competitors like Swagbucks and other micro task sites.
3. Cash Out
You need to earn at least $10 to cash out with Surveys On The Go. You get paid with PayPal cash, and there aren't any free gift card rewards or crypto rewards to choose from. If you want to answer surveys for gift cards, look elsewhere!
PayPal payments can take a few days to arrive, but the fact you can earn actual cash with this app is a plus.
However, keep in mind that it may take you a while to earn enough to cash out. One of the most common complaints about this online survey app is the lack of opportunities.
You probably need to complete around 10 to 15 opportunities to earn enough to cash out, and this may take several weeks (or even several months) to complete with Surveys On The Go.
In fact, Surveys On The Go’s own FAQ states that you may be offered on average one or two surveys per week.
This makes it a nice source of beermoney. You can also read my post on the top instant pay survey apps for some similar apps.
How Much Does Surveys On The Go Pay?
Most of the surveys from Surveys On The Go pay on average 50 cents to $2 USD for about 10 to 15 minutes of your time. The longer the survey, the more you earn. All in all, you can probably make a few extra dollars per week with this app if you answer all the available surveys.
When completing a survey, it’s important to be honest and to give real opinions. There are disqualification questions that can help filter out contradicting efforts, and if you are removed from a survey, you will not be paid for the time you spent.
I got disqualified for all three surveys I tried answering when testing out the app, which is pretty frustrating to say the least.
Also know that the rewards you earn for completing surveys doesn’t show up right away. It can actually take a few business days for your account to be updated.
Does Surveys On The Go Actually Pay?
Yes. Surveys On The Go does actually pay. Their $10 payout threshold is lower than sites like InboxDollars but is higher than some leading survey sites. But you can cash out with free PayPal money, which is a perk.
Just know that this app isn't a full-time job or a serious source of income since it has a low earning potential.
Pros & Cons
Pros:
- Easy to sign up
- Low-ish payout threshold of $10
- Quick payment via PayPal
- You earn small amounts of money for disqualifications
- An easy way to make quick money
Cons:
- Many surveys pay under $1
- Minimal opportunities available
- No free gift card rewards
- No other opportunities to earn besides surveys
- No sign up bonus
Other Surveys On The Go Reviews
After testing out Surveys On The Go for a few days, I wasn't able to answer any surveys without getting disqualified. And it takes a long time to qualify for more surveys, so this isn't the highest-paying app in my experience.
But one of the best ways to tell if a survey site is worth it or not is to read what other real users think about it. And there are plenty of Surveys On The Go reviews on the app store, Reddit, and YouTube we can look at.
As mentioned, the main complaint on communities like Reddit is that Surveys On The Go barely sends out surveys.
This means it can take weeks or even months to actually cash out your $10.
This Surveys On The Go review from YouTuber Digital Marketing Reviews also voices this problem. You're probably lucky to get 1 to 2 surveys per month with this app, and some months, you might get nothing.
This is definitely the largest downside of the Surveys On The Go app. It's not a scam by any means, but it's a super slow earner.
The Best Surveys On The Go Alternatives
One key way to earn the most money possible with surveys is to sign up with multiple survey companies. This maximizes how many surveys you qualify for and how much you can earn. And while it may take you a while to earn enough to cash out on each individual site, the overall earnings can add up over a period of time.
Here are some reliable alternatives to Surveys On The Go you can use to earn more rewards:
- Pinecone Research (U.S.): Earn $3 for every survey you complete and cash out for free Amazon gift cards or PayPal money!
- Branded Surveys: Another leading survey site that lets you redeem PayPal money or gift cards at just $5.

- Kashkick: This site lets you earn PayPal money by playing games and answering surveys.
- InboxDollars: A popular survey site in the United States that has a nice $5 bonus for new members.
I also made a video that shares some of my favorite survey apps you can use, which mentions Surveys On The Go and some popular survey apps you can use as well.
These sites aren't going to make you thousands of dollars, but they all offer more earning options and surveys than Surveys On The Go.
I've personally tested them all as well, and you can cash out and the process of signing up is very simple.
Ultimately, you can use Surveys On The Go and some other combo of reward apps and sites to earn some free money in your spare time. Just make sure you have realistic expectations!

Final Thoughts
Surveys can be an effective side hustle to help earn extra income. While they won’t allow you to quit your day job or pay your mortgage, they can earn beer money or extra income to help your family get by.
Hopefully, our Surveys On The Go review helps you decide if this survey app is even worth your time.
We think it's a legit site that pays on time. But again, you're probably making $10 to $20 per month with this app at most, so it's not a high-earner.
Side hustles like using various gig apps or selling your skills online as a freelancer are definitely more lucrative. But you can always try out this app while you're “on the go” to make some easy cash.
