Is PrizeRebel Legit?
PrizeRebel is legit and the website lets you earn cash and gift cards by completing surveys and short online tasks. It has a 3.2 star rating on Trustpilot, I've personally cashed out several times with this website and have always been paid on time.
There are also lots of positive PrizeRebel reviews online and payment proof from other members. And you can see my payment proof for PrizeRebel below, so it's clear this website pays real money.
You won't make enough money with PrizeRebel to quit your day job. But for a flexible, online side hustle, it's a legitimate site that's very easy to use.
Most negative PrizeRebel reviews come from users who expect to earn more or from people who get banned for using a VPN or trying to cheat the system. But in my experience, PrizeRebel is a reliable site.
What Is PrizeRebel?
PrizeRebel is a leading paid survey website that's been in business since 2007. It has over 13 million members, and since its inception, it's paid out over $28 million in prizes to its users.
I've used the platform for over two years, and my video covers exactly how it works and shares my payment proof if you're curious.
But in a nutshell, PrizeRebel is very similar to other money making apps and websites like Branded Surveys and Survey Junkie. It lets you share your opinion and complete short online tasks to earn points.
I've been testing out this site for a while, and since using it, I've cashed out over $100 in free gift cards and PayPal money with the site. Points are redeemable for over 100 rewards, and overall, PrizeRebel is a very beginner-friendly way to earn money online.
How Does PrizeRebel Work?
I signed up for PrizeRebel about two years ago to test it out and to try a new side hustle. Since then, I've earned over $70 from the platform, and overall, it's a very beginner-friendly website.
Using PrizeRebel is free and easy and takes eight simple steps:
- Complete surveys
- Complete paid offers
- Complete daily challenges
- Play games
- Watch videos
- Invite you friends
- Cash out
Time to explain each of these steps in a bit more detail.
1. Sign Up
Signing up for PrizeRebel is completely free. You can register with your email address, or by using your Facebook or Google account.
Just note that PrizeRebel only has surveys for individuals in the following countries:
- United States
- Canada
- United Kingdom
- Australia
If you live in another country, you can still earn money with Prize Rebel, just not with surveys. You can still make money in other ways like participating in special offers and referring friends.
Also note that you have to be at least 13 to join PrizeRebel. And anyone under 18 needs consent from your parent or guardian in order to register for PrizeRebel.
2. Answer Surveys
The primary way to earn money online with PrizeRebel is by completing surveys for money. This is how most beermoney sites work, so this shouldn't be too surprising.
After you register and create your account, you complete a profile questionnaire. This includes basic questions about your age and other demographic information so that PrizeRebel can select surveys that are right for you.
Most PrizeRebel surveys pay about $0.25 to $1 or so. You can find some surveys that pay a few dollars, but these are more rare and also take more time to complete.
3. Complete Paid Offers
Another way to make money with PrizeRebel is to complete various special offers under the “Offer Walls” section.
Examples of offers you can complete include:
- Signing up for a free trial or subscription
- Downloading apps
- Shopping online
- Trying new browser extensions
- Scanning barcodes and receipts
- Signing up for new bank accounts
Just watch out for special offers that require a financial commitment. You can earn free money with PrizeRebel's Offer Wall, but many of the best offers require spending some money or giving up some personal information.
Offers generally pay anywhere from $0.25 to $25 or even more depending on what the requirements are.
4. Complete Daily Challenges
To encourage PrizeRebel users to use the site regularly, there are different daily and five-day challenges you can complete to earn extra points.
For example, my daily challenge is to earn 140 points for a nice 10 point bonus. You can complete these challenges regularly, and it's a nice way to boost your monthly earnings.
PrizeRebel also holds raffles and lucky number contests on a regular basis, as well as contests to see who can earn the most points in a given month.
If you get lucky, this is an awesome way to earn even more money with this site.
5. Play Games
If you want to play video games for cash, PrizeRebel has you covered.
Some Offer Wall providers actually pay you to download and play mobile games on your phone. You usually have to reach a certain in-game level or achievement to get paid, but this is a fun side hustle if you already spend time with mobile gaming.
Just note that apps that pay you for playing games like Mistplay and Rewarded Play have much better game variety and rewards.
However, these apps don't let you answer surveys for cash and have fewer earning options.
6. Watch Videos
Did you know that you can get paid to watch videos with Prize Rebel? This feature was a little tougher to find, but you can find videos on the PrizeRebel Offer Walls that let you earn passive income.
Personally, I found several under Adscend, one of the partners. To watch the videos, you create a Hideout.tv account. Most of the videos only pay a fraction of a point. However, if you watch quite a few of them, this can add up quickly.
Sites like Grindabuck and Swagbucks also let you watch ads for money. It doesn't pay a lot, but hey, it's completely passive and easy to do.
7. Refer Your Friends
While some sites don’t have referral programs, PrizeRebel does have a pretty active and well structured referral bonus program.
PrizeRebel's referral program has five different levels. New members start out at bronze. As you earn more points, you will move up levels. Users need to earn 1000 points to move to silver, and then they can continue to move up from there.
The higher level you are on, the more points you will earn from PrizeRebel referrals.
Eventually, you reach Diamond level and earn 30% of your referral's earnings, which is a very high amount for a referral program to pay.
Cashing Out & Rewards
PrizeRebel has hundreds of gift card rewards and PayPal cash rewards you can redeem points for. Most rewards are available starting at 500 points, which is equivalent to a $5 reward.
Some of the gift card reward options include companies like:
- Amazon
- eBay
- Dunkin'
- Google Play credit
- Safeway
- Roblox
- Xbox
Since you can earn around 25 to 150 points per survey and hundreds or thousands of points for different Offer Wall tasks, cashing out with PrizeRebel is very fast.
As a new user, expect rewards to take a couple days to process. As you complete more activities on PrizeRebel and move up levels, the turnaround time becomes quicker. Users with gold level or higher will be able to have most rewards processed automatically.
I've personally cashed out a few times with PrizeRebel and have never had any issues with getting paid or receiving my gift cards via email.
There's also a new auto cash-out feature to PayPal that lets you automatically withdraw to PayPal when you earn enough points, which I love!
How Much Does PrizeRebel Pay? – My Experience & Earnings
Like most survey companies, PrizeRebel won't let you make a full-time income. Most surveys pay somewhere between $0.25 and $1. Some longer surveys do pay more, but they're not available often. And the Offer Wall tasks can also take a few days to complete sometimes.
I was able to earn $70+ with the site by completing surveys once in a while and referring readers from WebMonkey. Most months, I make about $5 to $15 from the site.
If you have multiple surveys available, you might be able to make a couple of dollars per hour with PrizeRebel. There are higher paying opportunities on the Offer Wall, but some of these do require spending your own money.
Overall, I think it's possible to make $5 to $10 per day with PrizeRebel if you put in some effort. But it's an easy and flexible side hustle that you can do while watching TV or in your spare time.
Pros & Cons
Pros:
- Free and easy to join
- Active social media with bonus points available
- Free PayPal cash and gift card rewards
- Payout threshold starts at only $2
- Lots of ways to earn points
- Different levels rewards active users
- Referral program has high earning potential
Cons:
- Users outside of the primary countries can't answer paid surveys
- Users won’t qualify for all surveys (normal for any survey website)
- Low earning potential (normal for survey websites)
- There's no instant sign up bonus like some sites have
- PrizeRebel doesn't have a mobile app at this time
Other PrizeRebel Reviews
I've used PrizeRebel on and off for about two years and have cashed out a few times. I think it's a legit site that pays on time, and I like that it has a low minimum cash out requirement.
But one of the best ways to see if a side hustle is worth it or not is to see what other users have to say about their experiences.
Luckily, there are tons of other PrizeRebel reviews on websites like Reddit from real users:
- ChaosZeroX says: “I use. It's mostly a survey site. They pay out at 2 dollars through PayPal and some other gift cards. When you first start it takes 24 hours to get payment. Once you hit gold status, it's the same day.”
- Wafersmash says: “You being active and talking to so many people on Reddit is actually what put me over to try it out. Awesome job with customer service and what not.”
- YungDaVinci says: “I'd personally recommend it over Swagbucks. It's very similar in what it offers with the offer walls and such but one of the survey routers, YourSurveys, is awesome because I can typically get a survey to credit everyday and they're worth 80 points.”
As you can see, these other users seem pretty happy with PrizeRebel and also like it more than Swagbucks in some cases.
One user also likes how active the PrizeRebel team is on Reddit and the beermoney community. And I think this is one unique point about PrizeRebel that I absolutely love.
The team is always on Reddit going giveaways and answering questions. And you can actually win a lot of bonus points if you participate in some of the giveaways and get lucky.
Overall, I think PrizeRebel is a pretty legit site. It's not going to pay as much as an online job, but it's a very easy way to make quick money on the side.
The Best Sites Like PrizeRebel
If you like making money with PrizeRebel, it's usually a good idea to mix in a few more microtask sites and apps to keep earning as much as possible.
