Is Coin Pusher Legit? My Honest Review & Experience
Coin pusher games are an absolute classic at the arcade. But if you prefer to play games on your phone, there's actually plenty of apps out there that mimic this arcade game.
One of the most popular apps in this genre is Coin Pusher. It's a free Android app with over 1 million downloads, and it claims you can earn free cash and prizes by winning enough games.
But is Coin Pusher legit? And does this app actually let you earn free cash in your spare time?
I tested out this app to find out the truth. And my Coin Pusher app review is sharing everything you need to know about this app and what some better alternatives are.
What Is Coin Pusher?
Coin Pusher is a free app that mimics the popular coin pusher games you usually find in arcades and casinos.
In this virtual game, a metal arm pushes coins off of a ledge, potentially knocking off other coins and prizes. If you knock off enough coins, you can win certain prizes, which Coin Pusher says includes free PayPal cash and electronics like a new iPhone.
There are similar apps to Coin Pusher out there, like Lucky Chip Spin, which also advertise that you can make money online by playing its fun, free app.
And these apps are immensely popular, with Coin Pusher having millions of downloads and over 90,000 reviews on the Google Play Store.
However, after testing out Coin Pusher, let me tell you: this app isn't a great side hustle. In fact, the app's advertisements about making money are rather deceptive, and I'll explain why.
Is Coin Pusher Legit?
No, Coin Pusher isn't legit since it advertises that you can win free cash and prizes but makes it unrealistically hard to ever cash out. And the entire point of the app is to spam its users with advertisements, making the developers money without paying you anything.
If you want to play a free, virtual version of this popular arcade game, you can give Coin Pusher a try.
However, there are so many other work from phone jobs and legit online jobs you can use instead if you actually want to make money. So, don't expect to earn a penny from using Coin Pusher.
How Does Coin Pusher Work?
Using Coin Pusher is fairly simple, and the app is completely free to download. All-in-all, using Coin Pusher takes three simple steps:
- Download the app
- Play the game to collect coins
- Watch ads
- Cash out
Here's how each step works in a bit more detail.
1. Download The App
Coin Pusher is available for free on Android devices. Italic Games is the app developer, and the company also has plenty of other puzzle, card, and arcade games that it's made.
Once you launch Coin Pusher, you don't have to create an account or sign up either. This is a bit strange since most GPT sites and reward apps require signing up with at least an email, but Coin Pusher is much simpler.
2. Play The Coin Pusher Game
To play Coin Pusher, you just tap on the screen to drop coins down onto the conveyor belt. As you knock off additional coins, you slowly accumulate cash, coins, and experience points.
Special coins, power-ups, and extra cash can also appear on the belt, so knocking these off yields even more rewards. And like a regular arcade game, timing your coin drops is important to knock off as many other coins as possible.
However, you only get a small free number of coins per game. After you use these coins, you have to purchase more with real money or watch ads to receive additional coins.
Otherwise, you have to wait a few hours for Coin Pusher to give you extra free coins so you can keep playing.
As for the gameplay itself, Coin Pusher can get quite laggy. And there's an advertisement that's fixed to the bottom of the screen unless you upgrade to the ads-free version for $1.99.
Some other users report the app crashes and glitches all the time, so older phones might struggle to play this game.
3. Watch Ads
As mentioned, you have to watch ads to get free Coin Pusher coins unless you spend actual money on this app.
Personally, I found watching all the ads made this app unbearable. Coin Pusher makes you watch an ad every 30 seconds between games, and you barely earn extra coins for all the other ads you watch.
There are plenty of other ways to watch ads for money, like by using various survey sites like Grindabuck or Swagbucks that have video rewards portals.
Overall, the advertisement spam is the worst part about using Coin Pusher. And paying for premium doesn't even get rid of the ads you have to watch between games either.
4. Cash Out
As you play Coin Pusher, you slowly earn coins and small amounts of free cash. And the app claims that you can cash out for PayPal money and various electronics.
However, I couldn't even find a cash out button in my version of the app. And based on other Coin Pusher reviews on the Google Play Store, other users can't cash out either.
Here's what one user says about their experience with cashing out:
- “If you have the time and I mean an extreme amount of time then maybe the most you might win will be the 2 dollar prize. But that would be after watching hundreds and hundreds of videos. As for the 20 dollar prize I got to 10.35 and that was it. It stopped adding money and hasn't moved since then. Uninstalling and moving on to other games that will be extremely more fun to play than just sitting there all day and just touching the screen to drop a coin. Wasted my time.”
As you can see, it takes ages to earn enough for just a $2 prize. And this user couldn't reach the $20 prize since Coin Pusher stopped paying them for whatever reason.
Does Coin Pusher Pay Real Money?
No, Coin Pusher doesn't pay real money. The app makes it impossible to cash out and just tricks players into using the app so the developer can make money off of advertisements.
There are plenty of legit and free apps that pay real money. So, stick with these phone side hustles instead of wasting time with apps like Coin Pusher.
Pros & Cons
Pros:
- The app is free to download
Cons:
- It's basically impossible to earn real money with this app
- Many users report frequent glitches and crashes
- The app spams you with advertisements
- There's very little information online about this app
- There's no iPhone game for money, just an Android one
Other Coin Pusher Reviews
I tested out Coin Pusher, and the number of ads and lack of cash out options made the app frustrating to use.
But one way to tell if an app is worth using or not is to see what other people have to say. And, unfortunately, most Coin Pusher reviews are pretty negative.
Here's what some other users have to say about the app:
- Jessica Brown says: “ This game is not legit and you do not get money to PayPal or Amazon. Your money sits in Processing and checking for 7 days after the 7days it repeats the process. YOU DO NOT GET PAID YOU DO NOT GET ANYTHING BY PAYPAL OR AMAZON. JUST A BUNCH OF SCAMMERS TRYING TO GET SOMEONE TO PLAY THEY GAME. DO NOT PLAY THIS GAME IF YOU THINK YOUR GONNA PLAY IT TO GET MONEY. I REPEAT THEY DO NOT PAY OUT ANYTHING.”
- A Google user says: “The app kept freezing and crashed causing me to lose over eight thousand coins. I was over level 75. I'm now on level one. There's no support option to contact anyone to help correct this. So I lost all the time and effort to reach the level that I reached and the money I paid coins and cash. Don't buy any coins or cash eventually once the app crashes you'll lose everything you invested into the game.”
As you can see, these reviews are quite harsh and point out a lack of payments and frequent app glitches.
Overall, I think this signals that Coin Pusher isn't worth it, especially if you're trying to make quick money and need a legit side hustle.
The Best Coin Pusher Alternatives
After testing out Coin Pusher, it's clear that this app doesn't pay and spams you with ads.
But if you're looking for some easy ways to make money online, you're in luck. There are still plenty of apps and websites you can use that actually pay you like:
- Cash Giraffe: My favorite cash gaming app for Android devices.
- Money Well: Another popular Android game that pays you with gift cards and cash.
- Branded Surveys: This leading survey site lets you earn PayPal cash and gift cards in your spare time. Check out our Branded Surveys review for all the details.
- Mistplay: This gaming reward app pays you with free gift cards for trying out new Android games.
- Survey Junkie: Another survey platform that pays you for sharing your opinion.
- Rewarded Play: This app like Mistplay also lets you earn dozens of free gift cards for playing new games.
- Match To Win: A new puzzle game for money that's available for both Android and iOS.
Tom also made a video on some of his favorite cash games and survey websites you can use to make money instead of trying Coin Pusher.
Using these survey sites and apps that pay you to play games won't make you rich. But these apps and websites all pay unlike Coin Pusher. And you don't get spammed with ads in the process.
Is Pusher Castle Legit?
No, Pusher Castle isn't legit, and the app doesn't actually let users cash out. This is the same type of trick apps like Coin Pusher uses, and the app has many negative reviews from players stating that they can't cash out.
Ultimately, be careful with these money-making apps that seem too good to be true.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is Coin Pusher A Scam?
Coin Pusher is a bit of a scam. While the prizes seem attainable and users report that prize money can often accumulate easily, there seems to be significant difficulty earning prizes and extreme difficulty to claim them.
As I played Coin Pusher myself, I was unable to play for more than a minute or two without having to pay to play. While I’m not sure that this site is a scam, I can tell you that it is not fully a way to earn prizes. It is merely a game to play, and if you want to play for a while, be prepared to pay.
Is Coin Pusher Safe?
Is Coin Pusher safe? I don’t know about this one. Its privacy policy is kind of vague and they require lots of access to your info and device. This particular statement gives me some pause.
An app having my name and address isn’t that big of a concern to me personally, however the storing of credit card and bank info sets off a red flag.
Is Coin Pusher Worth It?
In my opinion, Coin Pusher isn't worth it. Playing this app for any length of time without making a purchase is difficult. I’d prefer to do something else where it is possible to play, or where I have the actual possibility of earning rewards.
If you are OK making in-app purchases, you may enjoy this app more than I did. However, I’m still not sure that there is a prize learning potential to make it worth the time or investment.

Final Thoughts
Coin Pusher games are one of my family’s favorites. My teens love to play them in person at the arcade and festivals, and they have fun redeeming their winnings for small toys and trinkets.
But when it comes to Coin Pusher, this app isn't a good side hustle. After testing out the app, it's one of the more frustrating apps I’ve ever used. Not only is free play not possible for more than a few seconds, but I don’t even see where there are prizes to view, much less redeem.
Overall, this app is basically a scam and just forces you to watch endless ads.
Considering how many ways you can make money online or earn passive income, I don't think spending your time on Coin Pusher makes much sense.
Hopefully, this review helps you decide if this app is worth it for you or not.
