Is InstaGC Legit Or A Scam? My Honest Review
I've been testing out various paid survey websites for over five years at this point. And during this time, InstaGC, which stands for Instant Gift Card, has always been on my radar.
This popular website has one of the fastest cash out times in the survey space. And it's globally available, making it incredibly popular.
But is InstaGC legit? And how much money can you realistically make with this website?
Well, I signed up for it and completed some offers to find out. And my InstaGC review is sharing how much money I made, its earning potential, and testimonials from other users to help you decide if it's worth using.

What Is InstaGC?
InstaGC is a global gpt site that began in 2011. The site is free to sign up for, and it lets its members earn money online by completing tasks like answering surveys, downloading apps, and surfing the web.
The site is most similar to other rewards websites like Swagbucks and InboxDollars. Overall, it's a very easy way to make some extra cash in your spare time, even without any skills.
The site is most well-known for its low cash out requirement of $1. And it offers hundreds of free gift cards from various countries, as well as PayPal cash.
Is InstaGC Legit?
Yes, InstaGC is legit, and you can earn a variety of rewards by completing tasks with this website. However, it has a 2.4 star rating on Trustpilot, and many users report issues with cashing out.
I tested out InstaGC and earned about $3 worth of points after completing some tasks. And so far, I've been blocked from cashing out and had to open a support ticket.
So, while this side hustle works for some people, a lot of people have issues. Overall, I think there are better cash survey sites out there that are more worthwhile.
How Does InstaGC Work?
I tested out InstaGC to learn how it works and how you can cash out. Like many gpt sites, it's free to join and has numerous ways to earn points. Let's take a look at how each method works and how to join.
1. Sign Up
You can sign up for InstaGC from around the world if you're 18 or older. Alternatively, you can sign up if you're 13 or older and have parental consent, so it's a nice teen survey site.
InstaGC lets you create an account via Google, Facebook, Twitter, or by entering an email and password. Also note that you have to verify your phone number the first time you cash out.
2. Complete Surveys
Surveys are one of the main ways to earn money with InstaGC. And the site works with several partners to provide survey opportunities, including:
- AdWall
- AdGate
- Dynata
- OfferToro
- Theoremreach
- Your Surveys
I've used all of these survey partners in the past, and you can find surveys paying anywhere from a few pennies to $1 to $2 or so.
Just note that this is different from using survey sites that host their own surveys, like Branded Surveys and Survey Junkie. In other words, InstaGC is just a middleman connecting you to paid survey opportunities.
You can also get disqualified from surveys, which is a bit annoying. And different countries have different amounts of surveys available, which can impact earning potential.
3. Complete OfferWall Tasks
The other main method for making money with InstaGC is to complete various tasks from its offerwall partners. Some of the types of offers you can complete include:
- Downloading apps for money
- Watching videos and ads
- Signing up for new products, services, and trials
- Clicking on links and ads
- Playing games for money
These offers can pay anywhere from a few pennies for something like clicking on an ad or watching a video. But you can find higher-paying offers that involve downloading apps, shopping online, or playing cash games.
Again, these offers all come from InstaGC's partners and not InstaGC itself.
4. Earn Bonuses
One unique feature of InstaGC is that it pays users with weekly bonuses of free cash if they complete enough offers.
As you complete tasks, you earn “bonus units” for that week. Earning 100 bonus units gives you a 1% boost in weekly earnings, and you can get up to a 5% boost.
A 5% boost can really add up if you earn a lot with InstaGC. Although I wish there was also a monthly bonus system so you didn't have to reset your progress each week.
5. Win Completion Contests
Like its weekly bonus system, InstaGC also holds a weekly completion contest that pay the top users on the site with even more free money.
The person who has the most completions in a given week wins 10,000 bonus points, which is worth about $100. From there, the other 9 top users also get bonuses ranging from 5,000 to 150 points.
Some random users also win bonus cash each week. But unless you put serious time into this online side hustle, you probably won't make the weekly leaderboard.
6. Win Decimal Pot Rewards
One feature I like is the decimal pot reward system.
This sweepstakes game lets you deposit small fractions of points into a pot that's then randomly given out to participants. So, if you have a small number of points in your account balance after cashing out a reward, you can deposit the remaining points here to try and get lucky.
The pot is given away every few days, and it generally has a few hundred or 1,000+ points.
7. Refer Friends
InstaGC's referral program pays you a 10 point bonus plus 10% of lifetime earnings from the members you invite to join the program.
I've used this referral bonus since I refer readers to InstaGC and other sites from WebMonkey. And I can confirm the program works and pays you with 10% downline bonuses.
However, don't expect to earn much passive income with this system unless you invite a lot of people or some very dedicated friends.
InstaGC Rewards & Cashing Out
InstaGC has a $1 minimum cash out requirement and lets you earn free PayPal cash, Bitcoin, and hundreds of free gift cards to companies like:
The site pays out many gift cards instantly. And it also offers unique gift cards depending on your country, so you can often find local stores which is pretty cool.
However, when I was testing out InstaGC, I wasn't able to cash out the $3.20 worth of points I made. Most gift cards I tried redeeming were marked as being “out of stock.” Furthermore, I was told to submit a support ticket and to add more info to my account, like my address and social media profiles, to cash out.
I understand that these measures are in place to help InstaGC reduce fraud. But I've found it impossible to cash out with this site, and I don't want to give up so much information just to get a few dollar gift card.
How Much Does InstaGC Pay?
Most offers on InstaGC pay a few pennies to $1 or $2. How much you make ultimately depends on how much time you put into the site. For most people, making $5 to $50 a month should be realistic with a bit of effort.
However, there are higher-paying survey sites out there. And I dislike how difficult cashing out with InstaGC is, so I won't be using this website.
Pros & Cons
Pros:
- InstaGC is globally available
- Wide variety of rewards
- A low $1 cash out minimum
- Numerous weekly bonuses and contests
- Easy to use
Cons:
- A lackluster sign up bonus
- No mobile app
- Many gift cards are out of stock
- Low earning potential
- You have to complete numerous verification steps to cash out
- Not the highest-paying gpt site
Other InstaGC Reviews
After testing out InstaGC and being unable to cash out, I'm rather unsatisfied with this website. And I don't like how antiquated the website is either and all of the verification requirements.
However, it's always good to hear from other users as well. So, here's what some recent InstaGC reviews are saying on Trustpilot:
- Mary Ann Leyran says: “This company is dishonest. This company is dishonest. I have pending points that instead of being approved became zero.”
- B.R. says: “It works well enough if you're patient. Quite often things won't pay out, you're underpaid, or surveys will remove you instead of pay out…It's an okay site, but there are FAR better ones out there with more consistent payouts, better trust, and less probability of actually paying what you've earned.”
- C Rae says: “Avoid this company! They act like you're approved to take surveys, but they never actually approve you when it's time to cash out! Also sold my email to other companies and I get so much spam now.”
As you can see, a lot of users also report issues with cashing out. And people also complain about spam and not being paid very much when using InstaGC.
The Best Sites Like InstaGC
Personally, I won't be using InstaGC anymore since I can't cash out. But there are plenty of other easy ways to make money online that you can try.
Some of my favorite alternatives to InstaGC include:
- Branded Surveys: My favorite survey site that only takes $5 to cash out.
- Scrambly: A new and versatile gpt site that's available in the United States and Canada.
- Kashkick: A fun way to complete surveys and play games to get PayPal money.
- Survey Junkie: One of the largest survey sites that also has a variety of gift cards and cash prizes.
- Swagbucks: Like InstaGC, Swagbucks also has hundreds of gift cards you can redeem.
- Pinecone Research: A premium survey site that pays $3 per survey.
- PrizeRebel: A fan-favorite in the beermoney community with a variety of earning options.
My video also shares some of my favorite survey apps and websites you can use. And I've cashed out with all of these companies, so I prefer them to InstaGC.
Is InstaGC A Scam?
No, InstaGC isn't a scam, and there is online payment proof and some positive reviews. However, I can't cash out with the site, and I've found that it's frustrating and lower-paying than many of its competitors.
Personally, I'm sticking with sites like Swagbucks, Branded Surveys, Kashkick, and more niche-options like Grindabuck. And while I think InstaGC is still worth trying out to see if it works for you, I'm not going to use this website anymore.
Final Thoughts
I hope this InstaGC review helps you understand the features this platform offers as well as its earning potential.
I think InstaGC has some awesome goals but falls a little bit short when it comes to reality. I mean, I love the idea of fast $1 gift card prizes. But it's a difficult site to use, and I dislike how many hoops you have to jump through to actually cash out.
Overall, there are plenty of legit online jobs and gpt sites that pay more than InstaGC. So, have realistic expectations if you give this site a try.
Thanks for reading!
