I signed up for Gamehag to find out. And my Gamehag review is sharing how the platform works, what other users have to say, and how to decide if it's worth using.

What Is Gamehag?
Gamehag is a get-paid-to-play website that rewards you for playing games and completing a range of tasks within those games.
If you already use apps that pay you to play games like Mistplay or Cash Giraffe, you'll be pretty familiar with how Gamehag works.
However, unlike most gaming reward apps that are mobile-only, Gamehag also works on PC. This means you can make money with your laptop or desktop computer, not just a mobile device.
Plus, this platform offers an insane number of games you can play, plus some premium titles which is a major win.
The reward variety is also fantastic, and you can earn free Steam games, gift cards, cool Counter Strike skins, and even redeem major titles for free to expand your gaming collection.
Is Gamehag Legit?
Yes, Gamehag is legit and pays out its users. It has plenty of positive reviews, and there's also lots of payment proof online from happy users. If you play games through its website, you slowly earn Soul Gems that you can redeem for a variety of rewards.
Additionally, it's also a pretty strong altenative to other online side hustles in the space like Gamekit, which also pays you for playing PC games.
Most websites that pay you for playing games are fairly similar to one another and don't have the greatest game selection.
However, Gamehag has definitely gone above most of the competition when you look at what kind of games you can play.
Plus, the platform has gone the extra mile to make the user experience fun and enjoyable, with their own story line and a focus on community interaction.
How Does Gamehag Work?
I signed up to try out Gamehag and to learn how the platform works.
Overall, it's a pretty simple platform that pays you to play games. However, it has so many ways to earn Soul Gems, the platform's currency, which you can then redeem for a variety of rewards.
Let's take a look at all of Gamehag's earning methods and what to expect.
1. Play Games & Earn Soul Gems
The main way to make money with Gamehag is to download and play new games from its partners to earn Soul Gems.
By downloading and playing a game you can earn anywhere from a few hundred to several thousand Soul Gems, depending on the offer attached.
You can find ones to play in the “Games” menu, where you see all the information about the games and access your news feeds and forums where you can chat with other players.
Each game also indicates what you will have to complete in order to claim the reward.
This can be anything from reaching a certain level, completing a quest or finishing several tasks within the game. Platforms like Scrambly and Money Well have similar requirements, so this is pretty standard.
Some games have multiple levels of earnings within them, so once you access one level of earnings, you can move on to another goal within the game that will get you even more.
It’s important to note that all of these will take several hours of game play to complete, so you definitely have to enjoy gaming and be devoted to the process in order to collect any Soul Gems.
2. Complete Contracts
Contracts are collections of small tasks you can do to earn rewards, but most of these are instant and only take a few minutes.
These can be anything from connecting a social media account, following Gamehag on Instagram, watching ads for money, signing up for a site, or joining their Discord server.
Most tasks you complete pay immediately, but a few of them (like surveys for example) will take a few days to have the Soul Gems appear in your account.
It’s important to keep track of the tasks you do and track your earnings. If gems you were supposed to earn don’t show up in your account after a week, you should contact support to get it sorted.
It's important to note that the amount of Soul Gems you will get for doing a survey is nowhere near the amount you will get from higher paying survey sites like Branded Surveys and Prolific.
If you enjoy doing surveys then go for it– but you earn a lot more if you spend your time playing the games.
3. Comeback Often
Another easy way to make money with Gamehag is to just use the website frequently.
There's actually rewards you can get for logging in consistently– for example, you can earn 20 Soul Gems if you log in on 7 consecutive days.
Not bad if you're a frequent gamer!
4. Write Articles
Another really cool feature Gamehag offers is to earn Soul Gems for writing articles about gaming topics or specific games on their website.
Each article earns experience points (xp) which get you closer to advancing levels. And every new level you reach earns you more Soul Gems.
Articles typical focus on game reviews, walkthroughs, or other gaming related content.
However, if you want to make money with creative writing or freelance writing and love video games, this could be pretty fun!
Just know, it's not super lucrative, as you usually earn about 250 Soul Gems depending on the article.
Plus, there are also super specific requirements you have to meet in order to have it approved and get your earnings.
If you're not a big writer but like to read about gaming, you can also earn a few Soul Gems by voting on posted articles.

5. Post On The Gamehag Forums
One simple way to earn more Soul Gems is to be an active member on the Gamehag forums.
Contributing to forum discussion also earns xp points, which can help you advance levels and earn more in the future.
It’s good to keep this in mind if you’re trying to maximize your earnings on the site, but only 5 of your posts will contribute to points.
6. Gamehag Codes
Gamehag codes are reward codes you can enter in your account to earn bonus Soul Gems, just like that!
You can sometimes find Gamehag codes from associated YouTubers, streamers, and other places online which will give you access to chests that have extra rewards.
Sometimes ,users post codes in the Gamehag forums, so keep an eye out for those. Occasionally, there's a specific Soul Gem requirement, where you need to have already earned to redeem the offer.
To enter a Gamehag code you just go to your inventory and can then unlock whatever is inside.
7. Refer Friends
Gamehag rewards you with Soul Gems for every active member that you refer to the site.
You have your own referral code that you can send to your friends and once that person has earned 1,000 Soul Gems themselves, you get some Soul Gems as well!
Unfortunately, you have to refer 10 active users before collecting 250 Soul Gems, which isn’t much considering how many friends you have to get to actually be active on the platform.
If you have 10 friends you think may be interested, it could be worth a shot– but this isn't the best referral bonus out there.
8. Gamehag Chests
The main way to redeem your Soul Gems is for prizes and free video games.
However, you can also put your Soul Gems towards weekly, monthly, and daily Steam chests, which give you the chance to win games and rewards at much cheaper prices.
9. Giveaways
Giveaways are another opportunity to earn free prizes with Gamehag, including free games and Steam keys.
Gamehag runs giveaways every week and they all have limited spots, so keep an eye on the countdown to see when the next giveaway starts.
To enter the giveaways, you often need a minimum level on Steam– so be sure to check the details and make sure you qualify before entering.
The info page also tells you what prizes you can win and what tasks you need to complete before qualifying.
10. Become A Gamehag VIP Member
Upgrading your Gamehag status to VIP costs you $4 a month, but unlock the potential to earn 10% more soul gems, get cheaper rewards, and you get free chests every month.
While it’s great that the membership is cheap, there’s plenty of GPT sites that upgrade your status just for being an active member.
If you’re really dedicated to Gamehag you might benefit from going VIP, but definitely track your earnings to make sure you’re getting your money's worth.
What Kind Of Games Are On Gamehag?
One of Gamehag's greatest strength is undeniably its selection of games.
There's so many genres to choose from, including MMO, RPG, Strategy, Arcade, Puzzle, War games, Trivia, and more!
Plus, some popular games you can choose from include:
- Grand Theft Auto V
- Fallout 3
- War Thunder
- Call of Duty
- Rise of Kingdoms
- Star Trek Online
- Warframe
- Magic: The Gathering Arena
- Guild Wars 2
- Rift
The fact that you can make money playing video games and actually get to play enjoyable, major titles is frankly pretty awesome.
Just remember to launch the game through the site and create a new account, otherwise your gameplay won’t count towards your earnings.
Gamehag Rewards & Cashing Out
Once again, Gamehag is best if you like playing games because most of the rewards are game related. There are some gift card options, like Amazon or Mastercard, but no cash out feature with PayPal.
Currently, Gamehag rewards include:
- Prepaid Mastercards
- Free skins for a variety of games like Fortnite and Counter Strike
- Free video games (includes major titles, you get to pick a game to work towards when you sign up for Gamehag)
- Bitcoin
- Free Amazon gift cards
Being able to unlock premium games like Skyrim or The Witcher is, frankly, one of the best parts about Gamehag's reward system.
If you don’t see a specific game you like, Gamehag recommends contacting ‘Misty’ (the chat assistant for the site) in your friends list and recommending the reward you want to see if they can arrange it.

How Much Does Gamehag Pay?
Since you can’t technically earn cash on Gamehag, you have to measure earning potential in terms of games, gift cards, and Steam dollars you can redeem. And most users can probably earn $5 to $10 per month in rewards if they spend time gaming every week and put in some effort.
However, the amount of Soul Gems you earn also varies depending on what games and tasks are available to you, and what the payout is.
For starters, low effort tasks payout very little, while the higher paying tasks can take hours or days to complete depending on what the goal is– which isn’t always worth the amount of Soul Gems they’re offering.
In terms of rewards, the amount you can redeem is somewhat low compared to the Soul Gems it takes to purchase them.
Also, it can be hard to connect an exact dollar value to Soul Gems as $10 in prepaid gift cards will cost you a different amount than $10 for another reward.
If we calculate it in terms of Steam wallet codes–which will cost you 5299 soul gems for a $10 Steam gift card– writing an article that pays 250 Soul Gems is only around $0.50.
You could get a lot more writing articles for blogs or completing surveys on a reputable survey site, so it doesn’t really seem worth the time.
Ultimately, I think Gamehag can earn a couple dollars per hour at best if you focus on the highest paying tasks.
This isn't going to beat getting a second job or app based jobs, but hey, if you like gaming this is basically free money for doing something you love.

- No sign up bonus
Other Gamehag Reviews
I signed up for Gamehag to try it out before writing this review. Overall, I think it's a fun side hustle you can try out if you already spend time PC gaming.
However, one of the best ways to tell if a side hustle is worth it or not is to see what other people have to say.
Thankfully, there are plenty of Gamehag reviews on forums like Reddit where fellow gamers share their experiences:
- Mikazah says: “I haven't tried their app, but I've used their website for a while and can confirm it's legit. It seems that people outside the USA barely get any points though.”
- Dab says: “I've tried the website and app and it's legit but it isn't very good.”
- TheRealMasonMac says: “It's legit, however it's moderators often deny the rewards.”
As you can see, other users think Gamehag is legit but that it doesn't pay very much. And one user reports difficulties with cashing out, which isn't great news.
This Gamehag review and video Tom made on the best ways to play video games for money shares more information about how Gamehag works and what to expect.
Overall, Gamehag is just a gaming side hustle idea at the end of the day. It's not a full-time online job or way to make $200 a day or anything even close to a full-time income.

The Best Websites Like Gamehag
After testing out Gamehag, I think it's one of the better platforms out there if you enjoy PC gaming.
However, if you like the idea of earning rewards for playing games, some Gamehag alternatives you can check out include:
- Buff: Another fun way to earn gaming rewards for playing games like Minecraft, League of Legends, Valorant, and DOTA 2.
- Cash Giraffe: One of our favorite Android gaming apps with PayPal cash and gift card rewards.
- Earnweb: A new rewards platform from the same company that owns Gamehag.
- Money Well: Another popular Android gaming app with a low $0.50 cash out minimum.
- Rewarded Play: Another way to earn free gift cards for playing Android games.
- Swagbucks: This site pays you to play games, install apps, shop online, watch videos, and more.
Tom also made a video on some legit cash games you can try out if you want to make money while trying different games.
Gamekit is the closest alternative out there, so I'd begin your search there if you want more gaming outlets.
You can also use apps like Mistplay and JustPlay if you prefer mobile gaming, although Gamehag has a new mobile games section now to cater to those gamers as well.
Just note, none of these platforms are serious earners, but rather fun side gigs.
Frequently Asked Questions
What Devices Can I Use?
Gamehag is available for desktop and for Android and IOS!
This is super convenient as you have access to tasks and contracts wherever and whenever you have internet access. Just note, you obviously can't play premium desktop games on your phone, so it's still best to use Gamehag on your computer.
How Long Do Rewards Take To Arrive?
Gamehag states that rewards usually arrive within 10 minutes to 72 hours. However, Gamehag has 30 days to fulfill rewards.
Is Gamehag Free?
Yes, Gamehag is 100% free to use! As mentioned, you can upgrade to VIP membership status, but this isn't a requirement to earn rewards.
Is Gamehag A Scam?
No, Gamehag isn't a scam, and this website lets you earn gaming rewards for downloading and playing different games. You don't have to spend money to make money with the platform either.
Of course, like other beermoney sites, Gamehag won't make you rich. But this is a legit website that pays users, and there is plenty of payment proof online and positive reviews.
The idea is to earn prizes while you play games you enjoy, not to create enough income to quit your day job. So, in short, Gamehag isn't a scam, it's just a fun, humble side hustle idea you can try if you like gaming!
Final Thoughts
Overall, if you’re looking to get rich or make rewards fast– Gamehag probably isn’t for you.
However, if you love video games and want the chance at earning some free games and prizes, then you might as well give it a try.
After all, if you're already playing games that are available on Gamehag, you might as well turn your gaming into a small source of passive income.
Personally, I stick with apps like Cash Giraffe and platforms like Swagbucks at the moment. But Gamehag is one of the top platforms if you only play games on PC.
And who knows, you could even earn enough to buy the latest game release for free!
Thanks for reading! I hope our Gamehag review helps you understand how to make the most out of the time you spend gaming.
