EarnApp Review – Is This App Legit Or A Complete Scam?
Over the last few years, I've tested out dozens of passive income apps to find new ways to make extra money.
This is because passive income apps are awesome. They let you enjoy some extra cash or gift cards on the side, and they take very little effort to get up and running.
EarnApp, an app that lets you make money by selling your unused internet bandwidth, is the perfect example. It lets you make money with your unused devices and by inviting your friends to join.
But is EarnApp legit? And can you actually make money with this app?
In my EarnApp review, I'm sharing how this platform works, testimonials from other real users, and my experiences in testing it.
Let's get to it.

What Is EarnApp?
EarnApp is a website that lets users earn passive income by sharing their unused internet bandwidth with businesses and individuals from around the world. All you have to do is download the application and run it to begin sharing your internet for cash.
The platform is similar to companies like Honeygain, and you're essentially getting paid to become a node in a VPN network.
According to EarnApp, it's a safe and secure way to earn money on autopilot. And its website says you can earn about $50 per month if you share 1GB per day on average (and live in the United States.)
EarnApp is also global. But how much you earn differs significantly depending on your location and how much internet you share with others.
You can also make money with EarnApp by leveraging its referral bonuses and inviting your friends to join. Overall, it's a pretty comprehensive passive income app that's similar to a lot of other internet-sharing applications.
How Does EarnApp Work?
I signed up for EarnApp to test it out for this review, and getting started is quite simple. All you have to do is create an account, download its software, and begin running it to sell your bandwidth for money.
Here's how the process works in four simple steps:
- Share your bandwidth
- Invite your friends
- Cash out
Let's take a look at each step in a bit more detail.
1. Sign Up
You sign up for EarnApp by creating a free account with your Google or Apple account. If you don’t have one of these accounts, you can sign up separately by entering your personal information instead.
EarnApp is available globally and also works with a variety of devices, including:
- Windows
- Linux
- Android and iOS devices
- Raspberry PI
- Rokus
Once you download EarnApp, you also consent to a privacy agreement with Bright Data, the company that earns EarnApp.
This agreement basically allows EarnApp to use your internet bandwidth to download public web data. It also promises to use your IP address responsibly and to monitor network traffic to ensure your safety.
It's important to feel comfortable with sharing your IP address with other people if you want to make money online with EarnApp.
This is one of the main hesitations I personally have about using apps like Honeygain or EarnApp. But if you want to earn passive income and don't mind, it's an option.
2. Share Your Internet Bandwidth
After you download the EarnApp software and connect your account, you’re ready to make money with its application.
You have to connect your main EarnApp account to the app on your computer so it credits your account with income. As it runs in the background, you slowly earn money for the internet you're sharing with other people.
The application is pretty simple, and you can pause EarnApp if you need all of your bandwidth and check your earnings pretty quickly.
I tested out EarnApp and ran its application for a few hours. However, I'm currently traveling and am in Greece, and I wasn't able to share any bandwidth with people to make money.
This is the main problem with apps like EarnApp since data centers in the United States are by far the most lucrative. And many countries in the world don't earn much at all for their bandwidth.
That said, most people won’t even notice EarnApp is running unless they're using a large amount of data online, like when playing video games. And if you need a larger amount of data, you can pause EarnApp to speed up your connection and then just run it again when you aren’t doing other things online.
Many people also run EarnApp when they're not online, like when they're sleeping or are at work. This lets you make money with your laptop, computer, or phone when they're not in use.
3. Invite Your Friends to Join
Another way to earn money with EarnApp is through referrals. You can sign up to be a referrer for EarnApp to receive income for sharing the application with your friends, family, and followers.
Here are some of the EarnApp referral payout rates per country:
- United States: Earn $5 per install.
- Turkey: Earn $1 per install.
- United Kingdom: Earn $1 per install.
- Global: Earn $0.50 per install.
If you have a base of social media followers or a large group of friends, this can be a way to grow your earnings with EarnApp more quickly.
However, your referrals need a different IP address, so you won’t be able to refer anyone that is in your household or multiple people from the same house.
Overall, this is a decent referral program. Although I wish that EarnApp had some sign up bonuses to help new members cash out quickly.
4. Cash Out
EarnApp has a $2.50 minimum cash out requirement and lets you redeem your earnings with PayPal money or Wise. You can also redeem your earnings for free gift cards to Amazon if you earn $50.
Again, how long it takes to cash out really depends on how much bandwidth you can share with others.
If you live in North America or Europe, you might be able to cash out weekly. But for many countries, I don't think EarnApp is very lucrative.
Is EarnApp Legit?
Yes, EarnApp is legit, and the app lets you earn passive income for sharing your internet bandwidth with people from around the world. It's also owned by Bright Data Inc, one of the world's largest web data platforms and proxy networks. Overall, it's a beginner-friendly way to earn passive income in your spare time.
However, EarnApp doesn't pay much in many countries. This fact is why there are a lot of negative EarnApp reviews.
Personally, I can't make money with EarnApp where I'm currently living. And while you can earn quick money with it if you live in a select few countries, this app won't make anyone rich.
How Much Does EarnApp Pay?
How much EarnApp pays depends on several factors, including your location, internet speed and performance, and how many devices you connect to the platform. How long you run each EarnApp app also impacts your total earnings.
EarnApp says most users make about $10 per month. But again, where you live plays a massive role in whether you can even share any bandwidth whatsoever.
If you live in the United States, you also earn $0.36 per GB of data you sell. But many other countries pay you less per gigabyte.
In short, you can earn some beermoney by using EarnApp if you're in the right country. But don't expect to make $200 a day or anything like that with this app.
Pros & Cons
Pros:
- Lets you earn passive income
- Free to use
- Requires little to no effort
- You can use EarnApp on multiple devices
- Lets you get free PayPal cash and Amazon gift cards
- Low payout threshold for cash payments
- Available worldwide
Cons:
- Low earning potential
- EarnApp has even lower earning potential outside the U.S.
- Set up needs to be done properly
- You have to share your data and IP address to earn
- Lackluster referral program
Other EarnApp Reviews
I downloaded EarnApp and ran it for a day to test it out. But since I'm in Greece at the moment, the application didn't earn anything at all for me.
However, one of the best ways to tell if a passive income side hustle is legit or not is to see what other people have to say about their own experiences.
Thankfully, there are other EarnApp reviews on forums like Trustpilot where people share their feedback:
- Michael Ganser says: “I'm running the Earnapp on a Raspberry PI 3 b+ continuously for 5 days. I've made $0.15 which is 3 cents a day. There is nothing else running on the pi or plugged into it but the power cord. Speaking of the power cord, I think that it's time to pull the plug.”
- Ryan Miller says: “All of their competitors pay for the service you provide to them instantly (sharing your excess bandwidth to their clients). After requesting payout for the minimum cash out which took way too long to reach in the first place, I was sent an email stating that I would receive my payment within two weeks. That's just laziness on their part they can send it much sooner. It's not like they have to make sure I don't charge back or I'm not fraudulent or something like that they already took my bandwidth. I'll be uninstalling this and removing it from my recommended app list.”
- Dallas Davis says: “I installed this some time in late March. Used it on and off trying to get an Amazon gift card. But its minimum redeem value is far too high and the company is not likely to lower it anytime soon. So I gave up going for that after discovering they pay out in Wise now. I got paid that way instead–earned $15.94 into my bank account. I'm going to continue using this, despite the low pay rates and even lower amounts of daily traffic.”
As you can see, these EarnApp reviews complain that it takes a long time to earn money and cash out. And one user only made $0.15 after running EarnApp for three days!
This is the unfortunate nature of a lot of passive income apps. Yes, you can make a quick $5, but don't expect to make a full-time income with EarnApp.
This EarnApp review from YouTuber and money-making app expert Tech Hustler also shares how the app works and what to expect in terms of earnings.

The Best Apps Like EarnApp
EarnApp was a bit lackluster when I tested it. But the great news is that there are so many passive income apps out there that you can use instead.
Some of my favorite EarnApp alternatives include:
- Nielsen Panel: Earn $50+ per year for sharing your browsing data with Nielsen!
- MobileXpression: A fun way to get free gift cards for sharing your phone data.
- CashMagnet: Earn passive income by turning your Android devices into auto-surfers.
- Mobile Performance Meter: A fun passive income app that pays you $0.10 per day.
- Pogo: Pays you with small amounts of free PayPal cash whenever you make a purchase.
I also made a YouTube video that covers some popular passive income apps, including options like Honeygain and other bandwidth-sharing platforms.
But this is just the tip of the iceberg for earning passive income.
I mean, you can even get paid to workout with apps like CashWalk and Sweatcoin these days. And there are lots of phone farming methods to this day that can work if you're willing to test them out a while.
Is EarnApp A Scam?
No, EarnApp isn't a scam, and the app lets you sell your unused internet bandwidth for cash. It also has a 3.8 star rating on TrustPilot, with over 400 reviews.
However, many people complain that EarnApp doesn't pay very much. And if you don't live in North America, it might be difficult to ever cash out with this app.

Final Thoughts
I hope my EarnApp review helps you understand the earning potential of this app and if it's ultimately worth using.
Personally, I didn't earn anything after running EarnApp for a day. But the platform doesn't work well in every country, and it was easy to use.
If you like these sorts of ideas, you can always test out a few apps like EarnApp, Nielsen Panel, and dozens of other similar apps.
You won't make $1,000 a day or anything like that. But I think making $10 to $25 per month is possible if you mix in a few apps.
Best of luck!
