Is Cashyy Legit Or A Scam? (My Honest Review!)
There are plenty of apps that pay you for playing games that you can use to turn your gaming sessions into a new side hustle. And I've been testing out these apps for years at WebMonkey.
One of the newer apps in this space is Cashyy, a gaming rewards app that lets you earn PayPal money and gift cards for trying new mobile games.
But is Cashyy legit? And how much money can you actually make with this app?
I downloaded and tested out the app to find out. And my Cashyy review is covering how the app works, its earning potential, and how to ultimately decide if it's worth using.

What Is Cashyy?
Cashyy is a gaming rewards app that lets you earn PayPal money and a variety of gift cards for downloading and playing new mobile games.
The app is owned by justDice, a German-based company that owns numerous other gaming apps like Money Rawr, Lucky Miner, Cash Giraffe, and Cash Alarm.
In a nutshell, you're getting paid to download new and popular mobile games and to play them. The more games you download and the longer you play, the more you earn.
Overall, Cashyy is very similar to apps like Mistplay and Rewarded Play. And it's one of the most popular Android gaming apps in this category.
Currently, Cashhy is only available for Android version 5.0 or higher. The app has over 1 million downloads on the Google Play Store and an average rating of 4.1 stars.
Is Cashyy Legit?
Yes, Cashyy is legit and lets you earn cash and gift cards by playing games. It also has a 4.3 star rating and over 178,000 reviews on the app store, making it one of the highest-rated Android gaming apps.
After testing out Cashyy, I like that it has a low cash out minimum and decent game variety. Cashyy also has plenty of positive online reviews and payment proof.
However, it's important to have realistic expectations. This app can be a fun side hustle, but it doesn't pay very much per hour.
If you already spend time mobile gaming, Cashyy basically lets you make money on autopilot. But a common complaint is how low the earning potential is. Also, I was a bit disappointed at how few games I could download from outside the United States, so keep this in mind.
How Does Cashyy Work?
I downloaded Cashyy and tested it out for a day to learn how this money-making app works. Overall, Cashyy is pretty simple and just takes five steps:
- Download the Cashyy app for Android
- Grant app tracking permission
- Download and play sponsored Cashyy games
- Invite your friends
- Cash out
1. Create Your Profile
Once you download the Cashyy app, you have to complete a 5 question profile setup to finish creating your account. This questionnaire pays you 1,800 Cashyy coins and mostly asks you questions about your gender and age.
Once you complete all the questions, you choose to create an account with your email, Gmail account, or Facebook account.
That's all there is to it, and you can sign up for Cashyy and earn your first coins in about 30 seconds to a minute.
2. Grant App Tracking Permission
Once you create your account, you have to grant app tracking permissions to actually make money with Cashyy.
Cashyy requires this because it pays you coins depending on how long you play sponsored games, so it needs to track how long you use other apps for.
This might sound questionable, but other gaming apps that pay you like Mistplay, Cash Cow, and Flash Rewards require the exact same permission setting, and there's no way around this.
But all you have to do is enable app tracking permission in your settings, which Cashyy prompts you to do. Afterwards, you're ready to actually earn rewards with the app!
3. Download Games & Complete Cashyy Missions
Cashyy pays you coins for downloading games and completing specific missions.
When you launch the app, you see a list of games you can download. Once you download a game, Cashyy explains what the mission is and how many coins you earn for completing it. For example, for my Cashyy account, I can currently download Coin Master and Beast Arena.
I downloaded Coin Master to test out the Cashyy app, and my mission is to play the game for five minutes a day. If I do this for three days in a row, I earn 360 Cashyy coins. You have to complete your available Cashyy missions before you can download more games and unlock more missions.
Since I'm in Canada at the moment, I can't download too many games, which is a downside. However, Cashyy has better games selection in the United States and offers a range of games to play in genres like:
- Action and adventure
- Base-builder games
- Card games
- Puzzle games
- Strategy games
- Word games
Again, you have to be diligent and complete Cashyy missions to earn, which is pretty similar to gaming platforms like Gamehag which are also mission-based.
4. Invite Your Friends
The Cashyy referral program pays you 100 coins for inviting new users. You also get 25% of all coins your friend earns, and they get 25% of your coins as well.
This is a decent referral bonus in my opinion, and it's similar to sites like InboxDollars and Swagbucks that pay you bonuses for inviting your friends.
How To Cash Out With Cashyy
One perk of using Cashyy is that it's a game app that pays through PayPal, so you can actually get free money for using the app.
PayPal rewards start at 2,000 Cashyy coins for $0.20, meaning one Cashyy coin is worth around $0.001. As you can see, I earned 1,800 Cashyy coins in my account, which is just under the 2,000 coin requirement to cash out.
However, the value of one Cashyy coin increases slightly if you redeem larger PayPal rewards. Here's how the reward tiers break down:
- 2,000 Coins: $0.20.
- 3,959 Coins: $0.40.
- 9,701 Coins: $1.
- 18,826 Coins: $2.
- 37,275 Coins: $4.
- 55,354 Coins: $6.
- 73,067 Coins: $8
Additionally, Cashyy offers a variety of other rewards like free Google Play credit, PlayStation cards, and free Amazon gift cards. I can't access other rewards besides PayPal as a Canadian, but if you live in the United States, you should have more rewards.
And again, a 2,000 coin cash out requirement is pretty low and reasonable, especially since you start with 1,800 coins just for completing your profile. Just note that some users report having to verify their account by submitting a selfie before cashing out.
How Much Does Cashyy Pay?
The Cashyy app is a way to make quick money, but most missions don't pay too many coins. For example, my Coin Master mission pays 360 coins if I play the app for three days in a row. This is worth about $0.036, which is barely anything.
However, if you download several games and complete a few Cashyy missions, you can probably make a quick $10 or so in your spare time without much effort. And again, if you're already playing these mobile games anyway, playing them through Cashyy is basically a way to earn passive income.
However, don't think that the Cashyy app is going to make you rich. Realistically, this app is just a fun source of beermoney, and using any gig app or cash survey site will pay more.
Pros & Cons
Pros:
- Low cash out requirement
- Earn actual PayPal cash
- Variety of games and rewards for U.S. users
- Earn 1,800 bonus starting gold
- Easy-to-use app
Cons:
- Low earning potential
- Some areas don't have many available games or rewards
Other Cashyy Reviews
I tested out Cashyy for an afternoon and think it's a decent app. I like that it has a low cash out requirement and I think it's a great gaming app if you live in the United States.
But another great way to tell if a reward app is legit or not is to see what other users have to say about the app. Here's what some other Cashyy reviews are saying about their experience with the app on Reddit:
- OOFify says: “I have, although it takes face verification it worked great for me! I cashed out a 2.5$ Amazon gc and it came the next day.”
- Disastrous-Collar-88 says: “I am having trouble with the verification and I can't get a hold of anyone to help. Anyone else have this issue?”
- Plane_Sheepherder_55 says: “It’s actually a pretty great beermoney app for earning while playing games. In fact, the actual playing of the games is optional, effectively turning it into a passive income source.”
As you can see, two users like the Cashyy app, and one is even using it as passive income app to slowly earn rewards. However, one other user reports verification and cashing out problems.
If you read other Cashyy reviews on the Google Play Store, you also see some users complaining about cashing out and app glitches that make it impossible to get rewards.
However, the app has positive reviews on average, and there is payment proof online. Overall, if you want to try another get-paid-to app that pays you for gaming, Cashyy is worth trying. But if you want to make $1,000 a day kind of thing, this app isn't for you.
Other Apps Like Cashyy
If you like the idea of earning money online by using the Cashyy app but want to try other gaming reward apps, you actually have plenty of options.
Some other popular apps like Cashyy that pay you for playing games include:
- Cash Giraffe: My new favorite legit cash game app for Android devices.
- Mistplay: Earn free gift cards with the leading gaming loyalty app for Android!
- Rewarded Play: Like Mistplay, you can earn various gift cards for playing different games with Rewarded Play.
- JustPlay: Another app that uses the same business model as Cashyy.
- Gamehag: Earn rewards like gift cards and free Steam games for playing PC games with Gamehag!
- AppStation: Another popular Android gaming app.
- Buff Gaming: A passive income platform that pays you rewards slowly for playing leading PC games.
- Money Well: Another gaming rewards app from JustDice.
None of these apps like Cashyy will make you hundreds of dollars per month. But if you want to get paid to play video games, all of these apps are a decent way to make a bit of extra cash on the side.
I think other online side hustles like using reward sites like Branded Surveys can also be a nice replacement. And there are plenty of other jobs you can do from your phone, like answering paid surveys or mystery shopping gigs, that pay more than Cashyy.

Is Cashyy A Scam?
No, Cashyy isn't a scam, and the app pays you for downloading and playing new games. And if you live in the United States, it has excellent game variety and is one of the best Android gaming apps alongside apps like JustPlay and Cash Giraffe.
However, have realistic expectations about how much money you can make since this isn't a very high-paying app.

Final Thoughts
After testing out Cashyy for this review, I think it's a pretty decent gaming app if you live in the United States. However, deciding if Cashyy is worth it or not is a personal choice you have to make.
If you already play lots of mobile games and want to earn some extra rewards in your spare time, Cashyy is worth it. In contrast, if you want to earn hundreds of dollars a month, the Cashyy app isn't for you.
