Caddle App Review – Here’s How Much Money I Made
I've always been a fan of receipt scanning apps or cash back apps because they provide relatively straightforward ways to save money.
And recently, I tested out a popular Canadian cash back app known as Caddle. It lets you earn cash back for shopping and by completing tasks like in-app surveys and then pays you with real cash via check.
But is Caddle legit? And how does this app stack up against some of the most popular apps in the space?
Well, I tested out Caddle and cashed out with it to find out. And my Caddle review is covering how it works and its earning potential so you can decide if it's worth downloading.

What Is Caddle?
Caddle is a free Canadian rewards app for Android and iOS where users earn cash back rewards for purchasing specific products, answering surveys, writing reviews, and completing an assortment of other offers.
The app is similar to rewards apps like Ibotta and Checkout 51. And if you want a fun and easy way to get paid to shop, it could be for you.
The app also appeared on Dragon's Den, the Canadian equivalent of Shark Tank, where the company received $125,000 for 28% of the company from a group of 4 investors. Pretty neat!
Like other cash back apps, Caddle is designed to help brands effectively market to consumers and to understand their purchasing behavior, while simultaneously rewarding consumers for selling their data. It's a win-win scenario, but how does Caddle actually fare in practice?
How Does Caddle Work?
The Caddle App is very straightforward. Simply download and sign up for the app and then browse a selection of offers or surveys within the main interface of the app.
When you complete an in-store offer, you use the Caddle app to take a picture of your receipt and upload it via the app for proof of purchase. Once you upload the receipt, Caddle holds your cashback until it approves your receipt and then adds the balance to your account.
This process doesn't take very long, and most of my receipts get approved within 24-48 hours or less.
For paid survey offers, the rewards (generally $0.05-$1) are almost always instantly approved. ou Caddle puts out a decent number of surveys every week, and the screenshot below is a survey I completed in the app.
Some Caddle offers require a bit more work, like screenshotting an email confirmation or that you have followed a specific brand on social media, but these offers also get approved fairly quickly from my experience.
Is Caddle Legit? – How Much Money I Made With Caddle
Caddle is legit, and I was able to cash out $20.05 with the app after completing several grocery offers and subscribing to Hayu, a video streaming service. I got my payment in the mail via check about three weeks after cashing out, and I deposited the app, so this app does pay.
It takes $20 to cash out with Caddle. This is the same as apps like Ibotta and Checkout 51, and it's $5 lower than Drop. However, it's much higher than many gpt sites or survey platforms that only take $5 to cash out.
Ultimately, you won't get rich by using Caddle or any other cash back app for that matter. But you can use this app to save more money each month without much effort.
The fact that Caddle only pays through check is a downside, and PayPal rewards and free gift cards would be a nice touch. However, it's clear that Caddle is legitimate, and the $20 wasn't too hard to reach.
What Offers Are On Caddle?
One of the things I dislike about many receipt scanning apps is the lack of earning opportunity.
Apps might start out by offering cash back on everyday purchases, but over time I've always found the necessities drop out and the only offers left are junk food or medications.
The aspect I like most about Caddle is that there are always new offers and they actually include a fairly decent range of normal products, like these multiple offers for Catelli pasta in my app:
Coffee supplies, vitamins, baby products, toiletries, cleaning supplies, or special product promotions on Amazon or other marketplaces tend to pop up with some pretty awesome rewards.
In short, you can usually find something on the Caddle app you want to buy each week. And I love that it usually has staples as well as some more unique offers.
I even got $5 for trying out a video streaming service with Caddle. And the company recently added a feature that lets you write Amazon reviews for money after you buy sponsored Amazon products and share your feedback.
How Much Does Caddle Pay?
In my experience, many Caddle offers pay at least $1 or even more in cash back. The app also lists plenty of online offers that payout in higher amounts, like $5 or even $10 cash back. Overall, I think making $5 to $20 a month with this side hustle app is quite realistic.
This is also a pretty competitive cash-back rate since many products only cost a few dollars. And again, there are some higher-paying offers.
For example, I recently saw a Caddle offer for $15 cashback on a 12 pack of Beef Jerky from Amazon or something like that.
These kinds of offers are great because if you get about halfway to cashing out, you can probably redeem an offer like this and boom, you just got yourself free jerky, more or less.
There are even beer and wine offers on Caddle on occasion, and overall, I find the variety of offers to suit my needs better than apps like Checkout 51.
If you use a Caddle referral code (you can use TOM43988) you earn a $1 referral bonus. Answering the first few Caddle surveys to build a consumer profile can give you a few extra dollars as well right off the bat.
Sprinkle in some surveys and a few larger offers and you can probably reach $20 to be able to cashout. Plus you can always refer some friends and family so everyone earns $1.

How Do You Get Paid?
As mentioned, Caddle pays you via check, and you need $20 to cash out. The company says it mails out checks within 5 to 15 business days, and you request cashouts within the app.
I wish Caddle offered PayPal cash payments or direct deposit. But the fact you earn actual cash and not gift cards or sweepstake entries is a plus.
Pros & Cons
Pros:
- A wide variety of offers including many grocery staples
- Frequent and high paying online and in-store offers
- Frequent surveys that take under one minute to complete
- A decent referral system
- Other opportunities to earn besides buying food (i.e. following brands on social media, subscribing to online streaming services, food delivery deals, etc.)
Cons:
- Caddle is only available in Canada
- A high $20 cash out minimum
- You can only get paid via check
The Best Caddle Alternatives
If you live in Canada, I think Caddle is one of the highest paying apps in the rebate and cash back category. But I also think you can stack it with other apps to maximize your earnings.
Some of my favorite Caddle alternatives include:
- Checkout 51
- Fetch (U.S. app)
- Ampli (a great passive income option for Canadians)
- Drop
- LEO (A Canadian survey site)
- Receipt Hog
- Rakuten (my favorite shopping extension for online shopping)
- Pogo (U.S. app)
- ReceiptPal
I also made a video where I share some of my all-time favorite reward apps you can use alongside Caddle.
That said, apps like Caddle won't make you $10k a month or anything even close to that. But if you do most of the shopping in your house, I think these apps are a reliable way to score some extra rewards and keep more of your hard-earned money.
Final Thoughts
There's a myriad of reward apps out there, but not too many Canadian exclusives…this is one of the main reasons I was so excited to write this Caddle review.
Admittedly, no grocery scanning app is ever going to make you rich. However, if you find products you enjoy or already buy on Caddle, there's absolutely no reason not to give Caddle a try.
Hopefully you end up saving $20-$80 in free money over the course of the year. No promises, but I think you guys will find this is one of the better reward apps out there.
