Benjamin App Review – Is It Legit Or A Scam?
The Benjamin app is a way to “turn spare time into extra cash.” And this gpt app has tons of ways to earn, ranging from playing games to taking photos of your shopping receipts.
But is the Bejnamin app legit? And how much can you realistically expect to earn?
Our Benjamin app review is covering how this app works, its pros and cons, and how you can ultimately decide if it's right for you.

Key Takeaways:
- Benjamin is a free app for Android and iOS
- It lets you earn with games, surveys, cash-back deals, receipt rewards, and more
- You can cash out through ACH once you earn $25
- The company is also rolling out a secured credit card
- We suggest trying Benjamin but note the high cash out minimum before signing up
Is The Benjamin App Legit?
The Benjamin app is legit and lets members earn rewards by completing tasks and shopping. It's also very popular on both app stores, with a 4.6 star rating on the Apple App Store and 4.4 star rating on the Google Play Store.
The app is similar to reward apps like Freecash and Kashkick. However, it also has more cash-back deals and discounts you find with apps like Dosh. Overall, it's a flexible and fun way to earn some extra cash in your spare time.
However, Benjamin also has a poor 2.1 star rating on Trustpilot. Some users complain about tasks not tracking properly, slow payouts, limited customer service, and a high $25 cash out minimum.
How Does The Benjamin App Work?
You can download Benjamin for free on both Android and iOS devices. Currently, the app is available in the United States to members who are 18 or older.
Benjamin is all about “Money Moments.” These are (presumably) the ways to make money on their app. Signing up is easy enough. Enter your phone number when prompted. You need to verify a code from your texts. You then provide your name and email to finish signing up.
Once you finish creating your account, you can begin exploring the different earning options. And there are quite a few ways to make money, including:
- Playing cash games
- Taking surveys
- Watching ads
- Earning cash back
- Finding travel deals
- Scanning receipts
Let's take a look at each of these features in a bit more detail!
1. Playing Games
Benjamin has a games hub where you can get paid to play games in your spare time. And this is similar to platforms like Scrambly or Cash Giraffe that do the same thing.
All you have to do is choose games to download and then reach certain milestones within a time frame. These milestones are spelled out in detail. For instance, we saw that you could earn up to $34 playing Solitaire Harvest if you got to level 391 in 180 days.
You have to allow tracking on your phone so Benjamin can track your playtime and rewards properly. Some of the gaming offers payout $40 to $200+ depending on how many milestones you complete, which is pretty enticing.
There's also plenty of genres. You can find Bingo money games, action thrillers, cash puzzle games, multiplayer games, and more.
2. Answering Surveys
Another way to earn money is through answering cash surveys.
This is similar to using survey sites like Branded Surveys or Survey Junkie. You just answer questions and share your opinion to earn. However, surveys appear very infrequently on the home dashboard. This definitely isn't Benjamin's focus, so I suggest checking out our guide on the best paid surveys if you want some better options.
3. Watching Ads
Want to earn passive income? Then this Benjamin app feature could be for you.
Every day, the app lets you watch ads to earn cash. And you can also spin a wheel to see if you can multiply your winnings.
If you don’t win a multiplier, you’re only going to get five cents. But wait…it gets better. If you reach certain streaks your bonuses increase drastically for that day.
- Day 10: $0.50
- Day 20: $1
- Day 30: $1.50
If you check in 365 days per year, you’ll snag an extra $52 per year (your daily five cents plus these bonuses every 30 days). Not bad!
4. Cash Back & Travel Offers
If you link your credit card to the Benjamin app, you can shop and earn cashback when you shop within the app or using the Benjamin browser extension.
This is an easy way to get paid for shopping. And it's similar to passive income apps like Pogo and Bridge Money which also pay you for sharing your shopping data.
Now, the base cash-back rate is usually in the 0.10% range. This means you barely earn anything for shopping. However, this is still free money and an easy way to get paid for your data. Plus, some specific retailers have cash-back boosts that pay a lot more, like 1% to 10% back.
Benjamin also has travel deals and discounts which are more exciting. You can search for accommodations and get a mix of hotels and rentals. Cash back amounts are displayed very clearly. Some of them are hard to believe…up to 40% cashback.
For example, Club Wyndham in Las Vegas was advertised at $227 per night, with $152 cash back. Could this be right? Yes and no. Clicking through to the hotel page, we saw a table of dates, rates, and cash back.
The actual amount for the earliest available booking (August 11th) was $227 and $53 cash back, which is actually still pretty phenomenal. When rooms went up to $315 a few days later, the cashback rose to $75.We’re not sure why a higher amount was displayed on the search results…it might be a feature they’re still working out.
This really seemed worth pursuing, especially if you travel a lot. However, we ran the same numbers on Hotels.com for comparison. An August 15 booking was $149 and about $6 in OneKey cashback. Wow! So at the end of the day, The Benjamin booking was more expensive, so you should always comparison shop!

5. Receipt Rewards
The Benjamin app now lets you scan receipts to make money. This is similar to apps like Fetch and InboxDollars and is a fun way to earn even more cash back.
Benjamin says you can earn up to $16 per receipt, but you really shouldn't expect that much. Most receipts payout under $1 and in the $0.05 to $0.25 range. However, this is still a very easy way to earn extra cash back.
6. Referral Bonuses
You can earn $6 per referral as soon as your referral earns $6 on the app. They’ll also earn a $6 bonus as well.
This is a decent referral bonus, and I like that you get real cash. However, I also wish the app had an instant sign up bonus new members could enjoy.
7. Benjamin MoMo Card
Benjamin is rolling out a secured credit card called the MoMo card. This card lets you add money to it like a debit card, except as you spend money, Benjamin reports your payments to major credit bureaus to help you improve your credit score.
The MoMo card also gives unlimited 1% cash back on every purchase. There's no annual fee either which is nice. You can also use this card everywhere that accepts Mastercard.
Banking services are “provided by a Member FDIC bank” according to Benjamin. This means money in your account is insured up to $250,000 in FDIC insurance. You can join the waitlist to learn when the MoMo card is coming out.

How Much Does The Benjamin App Pay? – Earning Potential & Cashing Out
The Benjamin app requires $25 to cash out. You can withdraw your earnings through your bank account via an ACH withdrawal. Certain free gift card rewards are available too at $25.
You have to verify your identity by uploading photo ID to cash out, so keep this in mind.
A $25 redemption minimum is very high in this space. However, you can progressively earn more cash back once you’ve earned a certain amount of money with its different tiers:
- Silver Tier: Cash out $36 and earn up to 20% more cash back
- Gold Tier: Cash out $86 and earn up to 40% more cash back
- Platinum Tier: Cash out $150 and earn up to 60% more cash back
I like that this app has cash rewards. But the $25 minimum cash out amount is very high. In contrast, a lot of real money apps only require $1 to $5 to cash out.
The Best Apps Like Benjamin
I think the Benjamin app is doing a lot of things right. And I love how many ways there are to earn and save more money.
However, the $25 cash out minimum is high. Plus, there are plenty of apps like Benjamin you can use to also earn, including:
I also have a video on some of my favorite gpt websites of all time. And you can use any of these sites to earn alongside trying out Benjamin.

Is There Customer Support?
There is customer support. Support can be accessed on the profile page through a chat feature. Replies typically come within one hour, which is much better than some of the other apps we’ve looked at (with response times of 24-48 hours).
Final Thoughts
Bottom line for our Benjamin app review: we think that Benjamin is a good app to have, but it might not be one you use all day. Do you your daily check-in and rack up the $52 for the year. See the shopping offers and see if anything you need has a good cash-back rate. And try out a few games or earning options to see how much you earn.
This app isn't going to let you make 10k a month or quit your day job. But it's packed with features. And if you're okay with a $25 cash out minimum, it's worth trying out.
